Has anyone got a link to the commentary? I can't find it via the OS only the match with video via Everton TV? I'm in Greece and the internet is so poor I'd never be able to watch it otherwise id buy it! Cheers

Definitely concerned about where we're currently at.

On paper the squad looks good, especially if we add Atsu, but from the performances there needs to be many improvements.

Defence looks shaky, but hopefully the return of Coleman and added competition between Jagielka/Distin/Stones will bring the best out of everybody. I really hope Oviedo is given a chance to nab the left back place, as he was every bit as good as Baines when he played last season.

Centre of midfield should be fine once full fitness is reached, but is Pienaar/McGeady/Atsu enough options on the flanks?

Up front is concerning, wondering why we didn't pursue Traore in the end after we paid for him to stay for months while he was injured? Kone is a waste of space, and Lukaku hasn't had a minute on the pitch for us yet. Good job they've got a behind-closed-doors friendly coming up, but still not much game time!

There hasn't been much time for the new boys to bed in (Atsu, Besic, whoever else arrives), while there have been many individual errors on the pitch.

Hopefully it all clicks into place when the season starts... can't afford a bad start as it's going to be ultra competitive this season.

My theory is RM is willing to risk us possibly dropping points in the first 2-3 games so we can be more fit for the long season ahead.

Sorry but we look around 3 weeks off pace
I be amazed if that was true, if we start off poorly and couple that with an international break the next 5-6 weeks could be horendous.

This is an extremely rusty Everton. They don't look anywhere near ready for the season. I would just like to see us get in there box a bit more but we don't seem capable of doing it. McGeady not great but is better than Barkley. Peinaar looks useful but his passing is woeful. We don't look like a team at all and defo not on the same wave length. I am getting a little concerned going into the new season.
Where has the everton of last season gone?
We play with no pace or tempo and have hardly created anything.
When we get the ball we go backwards or sideways slowly.
It is only pre season but what are we learning.
Pienaar and mcgeady have been really poor.
One bright spot has been long but we need to create.Come on roberto we need to get our mojo back

As long as we play absolutely nothing like any of our pre-season games for next weekend we'll be absolutely fine ;)

Barrys been really slow to react to loose balls at times, hes usually boss at reading the game, has looked poor this preseason though.

I normally like your posts but you're approaching davek-levels of incessant-boredom.

Hibbert's past it, we know this.

How you liking our regular first-teamers so far? I'd like Ross to take more charge.

I think we've been ok other than Hibbert

Chris Long goal was superb. But he's not getting support.

My concern is Hibbert is no where near the pace of the team and technically he's making errors. His marking is atrocious.

Besic needs to do more than just rein his game in, he needs to quit trying these hollywood passes. He has connected on one to McGeady and the rest have lost us possession on the only counters we have had.

Where does Barkley actually play?

Whatever it is, the game just passes him by. He should be much more involved, running the show.

Baines and Pienaar are working the left flank, but there's no-one coming short on their inside to get them out of the cul-de-sac. We haven't had anyone do that job since Arteta left.

Can't remember a worse pre-season in terms of performances, but it won't matter a jot if we get a result next week

I can't believe all the disgraceful criticism of Tony Hibbert. If you have any problem blame the manager not the player.
Such awful comments do none of you any credit at all.
Think you need to grow up before your parents take your toys away. Pathetic!
it's actually the same 2 or 3 posters constantly going on and on and on and on with the same boring drivel every time
