If you'd listened to some. FFP would never of factored into Chelsea's viewpoint whatsoever. They were "rich".

They were never going to sell Lukaku.

They have lots of money.

Wrong on all counts. In FFP terms they barely scraped through and now MUST sell players and cut both their wage bill and other overheads to get back in FFP.

Oh dear.

Chelsea were always likely to sell Lukaka. That became clear after he was shipped out on a second loan. For whatever reasons they didn't fancy or rate him highly enough. If they had or you are right about needing to sale players etc then they wouldn't have paid a net £4 million extra on Costa as the main striker & who probably is on wages at least double what they were paying Rom.

As for "barely scrapping through" weren't you saying last week that they were still under investigation? Irrespective did you expect Chelsea to cruise through the first monitoring period? I didn't and I doubt they did either.

Let wait and see what the numbers fo2013/14 show when clubs start to publish their financial results later this year but after the huge uplift increased TV and commercial revenues the clubs playing in Europe received I doubt any , including Man City will have much of an issue. My concern has always been the wage expenditure in relation to the PL version of FFP because certain income streams or reserves cant be used to support any uplift in this .

Sky now reporting its to be decided today/tomorrow..Atsu has a choice of clubs including us.

There was definitely a breakthrough on Wednesday. Still confident.

I thought he had chosen Everton a week or so ago and the issue was between the clubs not agreeing on a transfer fee at end of loan period, or playing time?

So it's on again?

Tbh, I think we can get good value buying Chelsea's youngsters. They obviously can't be bothered to coach them, and that is something Roberto excels at, so there's surely value for money in that potential.

Yeah it's done I reckon.

I think this one will be a 12 month loan and that's that though, can't see a permanent regardless of what happens.

If he's got other options like Swansea or West Brom or whatever (Sky says these), then I think he'd get more actual togger with these teams than us.
