Mustn't have heard it. Of course if he has a top WC and is the first choice striker there he'd want to play here because of CL and silverware and whatnot.

Goalscores win games, simple as, he's the best young goalscorer around. If there's any remote chance we can do a deal to get him we should be putting everything we have into it. We've seen the potential out team could have last season with Lukaku in it, give them a season or two together and we'd be legitimate contenders.

It was wasn't a case of 1 off game though. If a striker hasn't scored for 3/4 games and isn't offering the team much else then I think it's fair to question whether the club should spend their whole budget on him.

He's great when he's on form but he has weaknesses to his game.
 
I'd pay 20mill for him. Two 15+ goal seasons and is still only 21. He has a lot to learn and has great potential if he is developed right. Even when he is not scoring goals he is a constant threat that teams have to worry about which opens space for others. Should be interesting to see how much he actually goes for.

Mainly just all the things he has said over the last couple of years....At this stage in his career, he seems to think he can be as big as someone like Ronaldo, and who can blame him....I just don't think he thinks Everton is reputable enough for him....He hasn't said one thing hinting he would like to stay with us....Its all been to the contrary.....I will put it this way, If he did come back to us, I am pretty sure it wouldn't be what he wanted to happen....

I don't agree with either of the above posts. I think Rom's always wanted to be leading the line for Chelsea, but he isn't prepared to get minutes here & there then sit on the bench 70% of the time. Lukaku knows how good he is, he wants the confidence of a manager who has that same belief in him to be the very best. To be the guaranteed first name on the team sheet, or at least the first striker, every week. Rom said Everton was his best experience in football, Martinez said towards the end of the season that 'we might not need CL football to sign him' so Bobby's seen/heard enough from Rom to think he would be happy to sign for us. Lets just hope Costa joins Chelsea ASAP & Rom doesn't light up the world cup.
