need to spend big in this area for me, almost as much as a striker if we want to compete for top 4 for next season, I see van dijk being able to play there, he'd be 10 mil plus though, so we would need to sell I think. This is my idea, some may not like it: If we get martins indi then since he can cover at left back for oviedo, we then sell baines for a nice income. Risky because we only saw a few games from oviedo but I think he could do a great job there. Given we aren't strong financially, just dont see the point having 2 top class left backs like baines and oviedo (who will become one I think)
manny fernandes perhaps, but delph is pretty similar and much more proven in premier league, 5 years younger so delph for me. But I would die for for van dijkSelling Baines whilst keeping Barry AND Gibson would amount to a mistake IMHO.
I can't help thinking Manny Fernandes would fit into RM's style of play very, very well.
menez if barkley drops back mate. van dijk if barkley is number 10It all depends on what Martinez wants Barkley as . If he wants him as a number 10 then he will be looking for a centre mid . I think we need a deep lying playmaker who can pick the ball up and get it to the front three as quick as possible. If he sees Barkley as a number 8 then we need a number 10 who can play that final ball like a firmino or tadic
Delph's not a bad shout at all. Particularly if Villa go down... Isn't there a rule about having a certain number of "home-grown" players in your squad for European competitions too?manny fernandes perhaps, but delph is pretty similar and much more proven in premier league, 5 years younger so delph for me. But I would die for for van dijk
I actually think we've seen some of his best games when he's played a slightly deeper role. Arsenal at home and Newcastle away spring to mindIt is too early for me (or anyone of us amateur forum pundits) to discern barkley's best position on the field. One thing I believe is clear is that Everton's fortunes moving forward are strongly linked to his development in whatever position that is.
Arsenal (away) was a mighty impressive game for him.I actually think we've seen some of his best games when he's played a slightly deeper role. Arsenal at home and Newcastle away spring to mind
