Jo- from a City perspective

I suppose it could be. As has been mooted, the big question is how will Moyes fit him in and will he get a game right away or have to play with himself while waiting on the bench. The weekend could see his debut, have a feeling though Moyes will only bring him on as a late sub. Personally I would like Moyes to say from the off, get in there and play alongside or slightly back from Cahill and put Osman on the bench. I kind of like the look of the team at the moment and for me the weakness is Osman.

If Jo does play then I think we'll line up like that, especially at home. We might need Neville and Hibbert in against the top four.

I agree on Osman, he struggles outwide but we don't have anyone who can replace him at the moment. Gosling and Victor aren't experienced enough and Van der Meyde isn't going to play.

We could move Arteta to the right but I wouldn't like to see that, he's better in the middle.

It's also possible that Everton and City have (privately) agreed a deal on the quiet to avoid an embarrassing scenario viz a viz any potential fee for him if Everton want to take up the option (let's say £12M for example - a good deal for us and a pay-off for City) - if we're interested in playing ball then maybe we've done this. OTOH if the price City were looking for was too much for us we probably haven't agreed a price and we just need a striker until our players return for next season.

Jo strikes me as a slight guy (5 ft 9) who might struggle at times to impose himself in the rough and tough PL but he can definitely build a rapport with the crowd if he puts in a shift and makes/scores a few useful goals. I'm sure the chance to shine, denied him at City thus far, can only do him good.

Maybe Osman will make way with P-N-A-F across the middle. At least we have some options now!

With regard to Citteh there's nothing much to dislike... even with the money being bandied about they're not Chavski or a [Poor language removed] are they - and which teams don't want to win the league!! (y)

Thanks for the welcome guys.

It's a strange one, the official word is that he's 6ft 2 but my ST at City is right in front of the touchline where the subs warm up and from there he looks like a giant, I suppose the 'fro gives him some extra height!

I've given him a glowing review and pointed out his good points but I suppose it's only fair to take a look at the negatives too so it's balanced- he can be extremely lazy and tends to do a bit of play acting during games- I'm hoping it's just his youth and inexperience, but if anyone can whip him into shape it's Moyes.

Also, it sounds harsh maybe but being away from his Brazilian buddies will be a good thing- at CSKA he had five or six and at City he had three compatriots with him all the time. The problem that arose from that was that a clique was developing where he, Elano and Robinho were one side of the dressing room versus all the rest. Now at Everton he'll have to get on with people and speak English. A learning curve hopefully.

I watched him at CSKA Moscow many times and he was fantastic goalscoring talent. of course Russian League are weacker then Premiership but I am still thinking he will do a job for us here.

Give him a warm welcome! He deserve it! :bye:

Welcome Col . I dont know about Jo . You will know more than any of us on here seeing as you watched him week in week out . Everton are a doged bunch , there is no place for ANYONE to hide in this team . You try to do that and you will not last ten minutes . Just ask the Yak :P

If he is prepared to scrap like everyone else then he will flourish under Moyes and the rest of the players . Sulk and he will be shown the door . I hope its the former(y)

Saha should be back in training in a few days. I'd like to see us try Saha and Jo together for a few games. That may suit Jo better by allowing him to drop back a bit more.
