Does possession football work for us?

It's great that we can dominate games and keep hold of the ball so well but we need teams to come out and try and get it off us to create space in behind them. If they sit deep we can't break them down. City and Arsenal both like playing keep ball, but they have players like Silva, Nasri, Ozil and Santi Cazorla to create space out of nothing. Can we emulate them on a budget?

Or would we be better to rely on our well-known defensive resilience more, like Chelsea, and counter-attack teams with the pace and direct running of Mirallas, Barkley and Deulofeu?

Have this discussion in a years time, robertos had 8 months he'll now know the weaknesss in our squad who he'll want to get in and our squad still has alot of evolving to do

Agree with the others, give it time. We were getting better then got taken apart by injuries and our flow, partnerships, individuals and organization took a hit. This style takes a lot of practice I would guess and an understanding of the players around you. Hard to achieve when your near a different team mate each week perhaps. Also gaps will be plugged in the team in summer I hope and well come back stronger.... Maybe.
Only time can tell but our style of play is not counter attacking at all and doesn't rely on the opposition being up field.

not a fan, but I will say this, they haven't once slipped down when wearing trainers, I hate that
They're a utilitarian sock and no mistake. Equally at home as a formal sock or they can be used for leisure activities. Whatever the occasion, I don't go anywhere without my Wilsons.
