Is there an option to be ambivalent about it, or does this forum increasingly try to categories people into one of two extremes? It used to be boss when there was a place for moderates on here.

It was far from a bad window mate.

We've lost Oviedo for the season and Lukaku for at least 4 weeks. Traore is still at least a week away from fitness. We're fighting for 4th place with four teams and don't have any fit strikers and only two central midfielders.

You can be ambivalent about it if you want, but as far as i'm concerned that means you're putting up with us being top 6, as we're not cracking the top four or pushing on now. No chance.

I can't understand the failure to get another midfielder to help McCarthy and Barry through to the end of the season ? If one gets injured, we're in trouble, Osman isn't the answer, moving Barkley back would lessen our creativity and threat further forwards. Don't forget Barry will be ineligible against City as well, so disappointed.

Moving Barkley back would still leave us with Options of Del, McGeady, Pienaar and Mirallas behind Lukaku or Traoure.

I enjoyed your rallying call lid, but that bit is not really true is it?

If Traore was good to go, then yay...but he isn't, leaving us with NAISMITH as our only striker. I am failing to see the positive in that particular nugget of joy.

IF pienaar is fit i could see tomorrow :

Mirallas
Peinaar Barkley McGeady

potentially by the time traore or lukaku is fit we could have lost 9 points to liverpool villa and spurs. and be behind liverpool spurs and man utd in the league.

we would also have to face man city with 1 cdm if we are lucky enough that mccarthy isnt injured or suffering fatigue.

i just dont think we have done ourselves any favours today really and not getting another cm and an unfit traore is a dangerous gamble. to use a term martinez used in the shambolic 4-0 defeat to liverpool - naive imo

this week in slow mo

Behave lad. Losing to them doesn't mean we'll lose to Villa and Spuds. We'll probably take 4 points from those and 6 is possible. If we then beat Brian's Swans we'll be talked of as world beaters again.

It has consolidated our position as pretenders when it comes to challenging for a Champions League place.

Maybe I am naive, but I actually want qualifying for the Champions League to become a reality, rather than this endless pretending.
