So, with Traore not even being available to play, we are actually much weaker than we were at the start of the window due to the experienced international players that have gone out and the 2 long term injuries.

Looks like Bobby is fitting in quickly with the company policy of telling fibs!

OK in the next twenty minutes I would like you all to turn against each other in a show of finger pointing please.

There will be bonus points for accusing each other of loving the club less than someone else and how it will all fall apart due to dark powers controlling our destiny/owning our club.

I would deeply appreciate it if all this angst at a lack of signing is due to your low functioning intellect or just sheer boredom as you want something jazzy to happen and for an extra player on FIFA.

Now is your time.

Shut up and write the Villa review you daft blert.

for the 100x it seems like, RM said that way before all these injures hit. 2 long term injuries aren't expected. Like someone said just because lukaku's out a month doesn't mean to sign a perm striker. We did need a CM badly though and shouldn't have let Heitinga leave without a replacement

Disappointing not to add, or more deflating than anything else. Seems we were interested in one more, so it'd be interesting to know why we didn't. Still, it's very easy to forget that Traore and McGeady have both been signed.

Over Martinez's two transfer windows we're now at around -15m net spend and a couple of million off our wage bill (four big salaries out, a total of nine in). I think that makes us the only top flight club anywhere in Europe to not support a new manager financially.

If your TV was broken and you had to send it back to get fixed.... If the cooker needed a new thermostat and you were waiting for the replacement part to be delivered... if the heating boiler needed a quick repair and the gasman was on his way.. and if all of these things were fixable and everything else in the house worked really well... would you go and buy replacements so that when the things returned fixed you had 2 of everything... would you do that? Maybe you would if you were very rich (Man City), but in the real world (us) you wouldn`t. The squad is slightly better and January is a crap time to buy. I would wait until prices were cheaper and I had more time to look around if I was to spend (the Summer).

Fans could turn on the manager very quickly if we lose another couple of games in the next few weeks...

We're four points off 4th place at the end of January. No chance we'll be that close to the top four at this point next season without the benefit of Champions League revenue.

Absolute waste of a fantastic opportunity to have a real crack at the top four.

This. Does seem like a fairly big miss. ::sigh::

... and why do I still have bloody Sky on when they are probably about to announce the RS signed someone?

... three points on Sunday or this place will (rightfully so to some extent) be an utter nightmare fume-fest.

Like i posted earlier, lets hold our new manager to his word, he says he has money to spend and doesn't like to do business in january, so lets see come the end of the summer if he was telling the truth..
what good does all of davek;s negative posts do? bringing the whole mood down further..

So Martinez doesn't like doing business in January, what does that mean for our supposed 'challenge' for fourth?

If Martinez and Everton want to be taken seriously then they are going to have to get used to investing during the January transfer window.

The idea that we can ignore the January transfer window whilst everyone else strengthens, and simultaneously remain competitive, is ridiculous and delusional.

This was our chance and we have ballsed it up. We all know the money will magically disappear again in the summer. So disappointed.

Let's hope we don't pick any more injuries up tomorrow to cap a bit of a crap week
