Loan watch

Pennington and Kennedy both started for Tranmere yesterday. Pennington played the full game and Kennedy came off in the 93rd. They drew 1-1 to Walsall at home.

I think that was part of the reason he found us such an attractive proposition to manage. Obviously being a Top 6-8 club with the potential to go higher being a major factor. But our youth set up is pretty hot, the manager gets pretty much top to bottom control of it and there are a fair few promising youngsters waiting to flourish.

Agreed. Can't wait to see how the youth pan out over the next few years. It's got to be a massive factor in taking the club forward long term.

...was speaking to a Wigan season ticket holder this morning and couldn't believe how much he was eulogising over Browning. Bearing in mind that this bloke is a middle-aged seasoned footy watcher, the first thing he said was that we've loaned them a 'definite' future England international. He said he's never seen anybody as fast on a footy pitch. 'No matter how good Coleman is he'll be looking over his shoulder because this kid is unbelievable'. Sounds good. I know a bloke who's part of the 1st team set up at Wigan and will ask next time I see him.

Sounds exciting.

Great to hear Browning getting such strong praise. Hopefully his game will really benefit from his spell at Wigan and he'll be ready to make a run for our first team next season. He does really seem to be a bolter as very few seem to have tagged him as one to watch. Coupled with Stones though, the centre of defence looks very strong. Heck, with Coleman and Baines, the whole defence looks super strong.

I'm still surprised over how out of left field Browning being a top prospect has been, granted I haven't watched him near enough to form a proper opinion but when I watched one or two games he's featured in last year or the year before he didn't really stand out. It seems like he's really put some effort into improving his game over the past year or two and shown he wants to be a proper player, which suggests he's got a good head on his shoulders meaning he's probably got a good mental side to his game.

To be honest though I can just imagine that Bobby went up to him and said "Tyias, you're going to be ****ing boss. You know that right? Now go and tear the championship apart comprende?" and he just does a Forrest Gump and becomes boss because he was told to be.
