Obviously money alone doesn't guarantee a title. Neither does a nice puffy coat. Why should this claim be surprising?

I know it doesn't guarentee it but lets be honest, if we spent 500mil on players I think we would win the league.

I know he has made people believe which is good I suppose.

Anyone can win the league with 'oil money' its quite easy.

Do you think we will win the league within 6 years seriously?
Yes i do. Napoli won serie a and aberdeen broke the old firm monopoly. And Montpellier won the french league over psg and twente the dutch league in the last few years so its not as though a skint team hasnt done it recently. Heck look at dortmund. All it takes is right manager and luck with injuries. The former we have and the latter we are bound to have one time in the next few years.

If that makes me foolish naive and a clown fine neg me into oblivion.

We will see mate...

The thing is buying a £30m player doesnt get you a player three times as good as a £10m on. Maybe 10-15% better if they are both valued correctly. Normally that 10-15% is enough to create a clear advantage but a legendary manager can make up for that.

I realise i sound a bit of a tit saying this but just feels good to have some kind of optimism for once.

Quite simply he will become our "Shankly" - he's very different but at the same time his vision, his passion and desire to succeed has much in common.

His message is more considered, more complex than 50 years ago, but assuming he stays at Goodison for a reasonable period of time, his influence on our club will be no less significant than Shankly's at Anfield in years gone by.

We've always had a great history, now we have a great future ahead of us.......

Two things come out loud and clear in the interview and the thread....Roberto is, to coin Eggs' phraseology " a perfect storm" with Everton, and the blert with the Greek name hasn't changed one bit from his Bluekipper days.

Viva Roberto.

Great words, The Esk....truly well played with that little overview.....very well put.

interesting hearing Martinez say that Barkley was afraid to make mistakes and that showed in his training and games...doesn't surprise me with Moyes and how he banished Barkley to the bench or even reserves for making a mistake in a game.

definitely the biggest plus with Martinez is the mental aspect he's trying to engrave in the club and players.

Ha just posted pretty much exactly what you did. Couldn't agree more

No mate, I see the validity of your point. Montpeiller I believe are our best inspiration because of the obscene finances of Monaco and PSG with the strength of teams like Marseille and Lille. It shows that it's not always about big teams faltering (though that does have to happen to a point) if you go on a run good enough you can upset the established order.
