Good preview that.

Used to have a soft spot for QPR - my first game was us beating them 3-0, hate them now.

I don't think Martinez played his strongest side in the FA Cup until the semi-final last season, can't see him doing that here.

Looks to be a tricky one but think it could end comfortably for us.

I want us to make the CL first and foremost but if we finish 5th would rather be 8th and win the FA Cup.

Spot on - agree with this 100% Our squad depth isn't capable without 4/5 additional string players and that would mean investment.
Start a strong team to get the game won early on and the take players off rather than bench them and possibly bring them on to save the tie.

I wouldn't advacate bringing a load of young lads in with no experience but it isn't unreasonable to expect Jelavic and Naismith to come in and do a job. Both are very experienced with something to prove. Jelavic will see this a shop window to get his move and if he bags a brace it might be worth an extra half million on his fee. Oh and before someone replies to say their not good enough, they would both walk into the QPR team so try and have some perspective. Lukaku has to be rested otherwise we risk his last few month fading into mediocrity. I would rather squeeze another 10 goals out of him and push his parent club out the top 4! (What a story that would make). Other than that the spine of the team should stay the same.

Lukaku, Mirallas and Peinaar all need a rest... definitely! esp Lukaku, he has run out of steam big time! Then again, if QPR take this game serious, we could be ****ed. Glad I don;t get paid to make these decisions! B) COME ON BOBBY!! COYB!!

Robles
Coleman
Stones
Alcaraz
Baines
McCarthy
Barry
Naismith
Barkley
Oviedo
Jelavic/Velios

Last season at Wigan, Martinez didn't really fancy McManaman in the league (he only started 8 games) but he started all their games in the cup. McManaman was 21 at the time so could be regarded as a youth prospect, I guess.

Anyway, I wonder if Martinez singles out a youngster here for similar treatment.

I would love to see this but I can't think of who that would be. Vellios, Gueye, Robles? I love Martinez sending out all our good young players on loan but I kind of miss watching those players in the cup games.
