ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

exactly. Before that match we were apparently going to get overrun in midfield.

To be fair you bypassed the midfield in that match with ugly hoofball tactics. It's fair enough as against every decent midfield you've come up against you've been battered (Newcastle, Everton, Southampton, Arsenal etc) but it wasn't fun to watch.

The most telling stat is that when he has started, we have lost only once, whereas we have lost every game in which he hasn't.

All that tells is that you don't know what you're on about! Seriously, what does that even mean? It's so obviously untrue you can't have meant it to mean what it says.

Is this in reference to the Spurs match?

We've not lost a game where Gareth Barry has started.

Barry > Coutinho

Obviously they've sold some players but... this is what they've spent..

Daniel Sturridge £12,000,000 9/10 but still a moaner (questionable attitude)
Simon Mignolet £10,000,000 8.5/10 good keeper so not really a gamble to replace the fast fading Reina
Philippe Coutinho £8,500,000 8/10 shows promise, looks a decent deal on an unknown quantity..
Mamadou Sakho £13,000,000 7/10 not bad
Kolo Toure Free 7/10 not bad, some injuries

Oussama Assaidi £2,300,000 who knows - obviously Stoke do - so maybe 3/10?
Joe Allen £15,000,000 2/10 if I'm being generous
Fabio Borini £10,000,000 2/10 I am being generous

£22M worth of heaven knows what!

Luis Alberto £6,800,000 who knows?
Samed Yesil £1,000,000 who knows?
Iago Aspas £7,000,000 who knows?
Tiago Ilori £7,000,000 who knows?

So £93M odd gets you about 3 good players..and a large wage bill.

Lads, why bother?

He's a kopite. Kopites are gobsh1tes.

Surely you can see he's a bit simple.

He thinks Allen is boss.

:lock: thread

Their midfield of Allen, Lucas and Henderson are work horses, this is only working due to the form of Suarez

Yep, probably about right - without Swarez they'd be exposed for that but when he's on the ball almost anything is possible so all the misgivings about the rest of them is somewhat overlooked..

Spurs game - well credit for smashing a truly awful (on the day) Spurs yep, but I think almost any team would have smashed them that day - even a dreadful West Ham got lucky and beat them 3-0 at their place and then, even after AVB was sacked still got lucky to win the cup tie last week. The greater credit surely must be that they dominated for the whole 90 minutes (even against ten men for 25-30 minutes) and pressed home the advantage a clearly disspirited home side gave them. I can't remember Spurs doing anything of note so again, credit and shame in equal measure - best to remember that the result of a game is determined by ability and luck in roughly equal measure - given that Spurs were so awful at the time that accounts for the luck element going all to Liverpool and then being roughly equal in ability it came down - on the day - to a 75% chance that Liverpool would win and so it happened.
