Motherwell have 11,235 likes on Facebook
Everton have 474,505 likes on Facebook
So Everton will have 42x more fans willing to be ultras.

Look don't be ****ging off fans who want to sing songs saying it's not Everton. Everton have hundreds of songs and were chanting before Liverpool even existed, FACT. As for founded on your proper working class men yes we were and if you bother to ever speak to any about our finest ever away mobs you're talking about when we took the Stretford End and North Bank when you got 2000 skinheads going in there untouched singing their hearts out all match

Im not ****ging off people who sing songs I said in my post I join in when it happens, the firms we took/take away didn't have any plans of what to sing or when to sing to. What I'm saying is we're re-active we don't need to be organised with a group of people who will try get an atmosphere when it's quite, ya can't tell thousands of people to start singing and then not call them a fan because they don't. I've started singing myself in the lower gladdy and no ones joined in, I carried n regardless because that's how Everton made me feel at that moment in time. I'm not on here to argue but that bulgarian lad proper got under me skin because he made it personal about my support.

You were wound up and a couple of sentences you did wound me up too! The lads then would write songs and try and get them sung, a number of songs were made up and copied on song sheets. There was a degree of organisation and we were all the better for it. We were a pro active crowd it would be non stop singing from well before kick off and would only die down after around 20 mins into the match but would pick up again, sometimes it was non stop all match sometimes it wasn’t. Again depends on where you were in the ground too. All this I’m a boss scouser cos I don’t sing and wear trainees is contrived. Fans should do what they want, I’m not bothered if fans don’t like singing, I am bothered when fans think they’re some kind of in the know super fan because they don’t and so put others off from singing.

Not at all. Goodison plays off whats going on better than any ground I know. When it's angry its unbeatable. If we sing for 90 mins we ruin the genuine atmosphere and it all becomes plastic.

I was at the Palace game and whilst they were noisy it was unnessecary and didn't appear to be supporting the players.

Big difference between singing songs and a good, loud atmosphere.

That must be why we scraped a draw there and were generally awful then, obviously had nothing to do with the Palace fans creating a boss atmosphere for their team that day

Goodison is as bad as every other Prem ground most of the time, only comes to life under the lights and when the ref is giving the opposition all the decisions

Nah give an evil Goodson anyday than some whoppers with a load of cringey flags.

Ultra bell ends

Spot on mate.

And people like me who take this view aren't against singing, quite the opposite. I'd just hate for 90 mins of constant indistinguishable chants to just become white noise to the players.

Goodison is unique - the players react to the fans, and the fans react to the players.

Some games will be better in atmosphere than others, but I'd rather keep a genuine atmosphere for most games, that have a plazzy one for all.

What the OP said was Everton fans are the reason goodison's atmosphere isn't known around Europe and that we have to become ultras and do this and do that. No we don't. I also stated in my first post I don't care what other fans think of us, I have my reasons for supporting Everton and how I support Everton but for someone to come on say that evertonians are wrong in how they support Everton isn't on. It's everyone's own choice how they wanna support us but telling us that we're doing it wrong because other fans don't know who we are, so what. **** the other fans.

I'd much rather have a horde snarling dads questioning the referee's parentage than everyone linking arms and singing Follow the Jelavic Road

Like I said earlier, it isn't for everyone, but stuff like this:

Has been great, and has made a massive difference to the atmosphere.
