Absolutely. 40 goals in one season is immnse. I think that Sharps nose might have been put out of joint. I reckon Sharp's view on the 80s era - it being disrupted by the game we played to suit Lineker - has been instrumental in Lineker's status or lack of status.

Cottee got it both barrels. Again, another lad who scored goals by the bucket load for Everton, just not of any great importance in winning trophies. Sharp just wanted him and Gray or him and Heath to play upfront.

I sort of got Sharps point though mate, he seen the trend changing with lads coming into the club who were happy to pick up a paycheck rather than spill their guts for the cause.

Its all subjective of course.
