We won't be but....

As long as we're giving it a go and Martinez is not sticking rigidly to one set of players or one system then I'm fine with it.

We never won anything with Moyes so as long as we're not in serious danger of relegation I know we're rolling the dice with Martinez.

It won't happen though.

It's not keeping me up at night and I generally don't like it when clubs sack a manager so early in the job, but such a dramatic drop may call for such action

I guess we won't know how we'll feel unless it actually happens

I remember not wanting Moyes out when we had relegation scraps when he was here, but he wasn't actually doing any worse than the previous manager when that happened

I'm used to us being in the hunt now, so I'd be a lot more knee jerk if we did badly under Martinez

Just shows how our expectations have changed during the Moyes Years I guess

Method, philosophy, approach, systems..they all use the language.

And as long as it isn't used to excess as an excuse (as with Brendan reaching for it as a security blanket) I'd sooner it was elaborated rather than giving no impression of what a manager is looking to achieve.

Yes, but are we going to copy Brenda's philosophy and employ a fake reverse central wide up and down number 14 in the starting XI?

Big year for that phoney.

I have him down as a knocker to be sacked before the end of this coming season. They gave him a lot of free rein last season; this time around the knives will be out.

Yep, on that one you are bang on the money. If he lasts the season he'll defo be getting the invite to Boston in May.

He did a great job at changing our expectations, he couldn't change his though.

10 years in with a squad a country mile better than what he inherited and he'd still come across like we'd be privileged to get a point at some places, no thanks.

Very early days but i'm loving Roberto so far, the change has brought a whole new atmosphere to the place. Going in to a new season with Moyes still at the helm wouldn't have been any fun at all...

I am excited about having a new manager. I think it was time for a change. We weren't going any further under Moyes I think

Honest question to all concerned, however unlikely this may be, if we're in the relegation zone by Jan, how should we react? Should we call for Martinez's scalp or should we stick by him?

Again, I'm not saying this will happen, I'm just interested to see hypothetically where we all stand on the matter

Depends on so much more than league position look at Villa last season they lived the nightmare but overall the fans could see the plan - blood the young 'uns and take the medicine to reap the rewards later.

Fans know the score, the old guard provided Prem survival here and improvement requires change but there's no guarantee.

If it's going tits up and we're getting leathered playing like shthouses that will be his lot - and rightly so - no more of this indulging a manager eternally making the same mistakes - EFC is about progress not creeping stagnation.

Can't see it happening myself, reckon we'll be brilliant.

Spot on, if they finish out of the top 5 again, which they will, he will be a goner. No way will the delusional's across the park put up with that again.

Only, I can see Villa being in another relegation scrap this season too.

F*ckin hate Villa

He's clever tho, always say's the right thing and keeps the fans on his side, but it will only take him so far,
Can't see him being there long, pity like
