Denis.... Simply because he was a wonderful man :(

BRING BACK DENIS THIS SUMMER PLEASE MOYES

Tom Donegan looked the best player on the pitch in the Academy League final that we won against Fulham in 2011. A few weeks later he'd been released only to be signed a few days later by Fulham. Who had obviously been just as impressed as me and all the other fans sat around me. On that night he seemed able to dribble past players with ease, over and over again.

I was sure he'd develop into a Premier League player, but he's 20 now and has hardly had a sniff of the first team. In fact a look at his online profile reveals he was loaned out to non-league Farnborough in February of this year.

It seems Everton were spot on to release him and I (and Fulham) were wrong to rate him so highly off one performance. In fact it attests to Everton's good judgement that its only possible to name a couple of players released as youths in recent years who have gone on to even flirt with the premier league. Ruddy, Fox, Akpan and McManaman might've provided some squad depth, but none of them would ever have become automatic starters for us.

Tim Cahill, still has got PL football in him.

I agree with this.

Think he was definitely worth a year as an impact substitution. Without going over old ground, he and Jella had a fantastic relationship too.

Not saying Cahill leaving has turned Jelavic into the striker he is today, but for the measly million quid we got I would have liked to have seen Timmy stay.

the main irk i have is that some of the youngsters we let go are not good enough for us, but we must realise they're championship level and could eventually get a decent fee for them as opposed to letting them go. Obviously the fee we recieve has to be larger than the wages we have to pay after they would have been released. all hindsight stuff i suppose

i always thing why did we sell him when he was amazing
He barely had a goal to his name for 12 months, and was spending more time on the deck than on his feet. Tim Cahill was a great player for Everton but unfortunately was past his best. It happens to us all, so says my wife.

I liked the look of the young lad Adam Forshaw ?? .... he was on loan to Bradford I think ...then we sold him to them. Could turn out to be a very decent player.

TC he won't be a popular choice but anybody who puts 3 past Newcastle on his debut........still had a few goals left in him for Leicester City (27 in 85 games)

Probably Michael Ball. But he had serious issues in that he was getting into all kinds of trouble with Richard Dunne, so it's not surprise that both of them were booted out the club. I'd say Ruddy too, but it's hard to keep a young keeper when he is behind one of the best in the league

what kind of trouble were they getting into? Michael Ball was quality before injuries wrecked his career. Would've been pushing Cole for England caps
