No not really mate I was a really just being flippant . Nobody is bigger than the club and I truly believe that but if moyes had won a couple of titles and a European trophy I'd be inclined to give him a bit of slack and I'm pretty sure everyone else would.
We can pretend it wouldn't matter but it would , alex ferguson went. Against the fans over the glaziers but no one complained , why would they ? Success = leeway doesn't it ?
I supppose when it is translated into actual silverware it does, in fairness, but it's all relative really. Despite his not winning a trophy, Moyes' tenure here will be seen as a 'success' relatively speaking. Possibly even more so retrospectively if we don't progress further after he has gone, and frankly it's difficult to see how that will happen without the obvious investment that is needed.
He is obviously aware of his present bargaining strength and is using it to his advantage as you have indicated. However there appear to be lot of people in football from what I can gather that are advising him to do exactly what he is doing, and in fact move on elsewhere to further his own ambitions if he doesn't get the money he requires to break the glass ceiling with us. So I really wouldn't blame him for his present stance, especially as it may pan out that it works to our advantage in the end.
Even with Mourinho's success you can't help but get the feeling it's all about me, me, me, and not the clubs he actually works for. That's why I was comparing the two scenarios.
