"We need to move from Goodison"

The seats at Goodison are already cramped, because it is a stadium which is too large for the surrounding site it inhabits. There is nowhere near enough room to undertake a worthwhile stadium build on the Goodison plot. The fact that architects plans originally drawn up were wildly inaccurate proves it.

You've gota think about people not from the area too. A new stadium in a better area for parking, facilities, transport, travel ect ect is going to attract more evertonians from other areas. Not being from the area, as nostalgic as it is going GP its also a royal pain in the ass.

And yes the seating is cramped to Fook..I'm a small person can't imagine how uncomfortable it is for the larger evertonian.

We need to move IMO.

It seems strange that we need only a small amount of land for Goodison to extend and that it's viewed as not viable despite the cheapness of the area, yet for a new stadium we need loads of room and it's deemed as cheaper?

Someone mentioned on here about the school may be closing, is that right?

Is it possible to update goodison, is it realistic like?

It is defo possible, but the custodians of the club want to take us away.

People may see this as cynicism, but they want to move us away to a new space so that when they come to selling Everton they can sell it for more £££.

Developing Goodison and selling that on wouldn't make as much money coz of the area, however a re-developed Goodison coupled with a regeneration of Walton (a similar idea to what they wanted to do with Kirkby/Tesco) would be amazing for the L4 area. But they won't ever want that and will tell us it is never going to be possible, why, simply because they won't make as much money from it - in my opinion.

A few park and ride could solve a lot of the parking problems.Anyone know if the club still buy vacant properties in the vicinity
Of GP ?

Agreed. I'm no architect or civil engineer but I bet it is possible. I'm sure at the very least you could build a massive new stand at the park end and redevelop the main stand to get rid of the posts and put some proper exec boxes in.

However, the myth is spreading that it is totally impossible which I don't believe. One thing that stood out to me on the Collymore talk sport feature was that he kept saying "Goodison can't be redeveloped" as if that was the end of it.

It obviously can be redeveloped, but that would require the purchase of the properties that are currently on land the redevelopment would need. Even the school could be bought with a prerequisite to rebuild it's replacement within a certain distance nearby. It may need a friendly LCC though. Not being local I don't know how likely that is.

Your most probably right tbh, redeveloping Goodison would be almost impossible as we would have to figure out a plan what would happen to the properties surrounding the ground.

Dynamite is my plan. Or some semtex from my cousins.

Seriously any move from Goodison - apart from one to a truly world-beating iconic stadium - would see me in tears.

This is the reality. Ignore the clown on the Talksport thread. There is no money - and won't be any money in the forseeable - for projects like this. The UK property industry is on its knees. The Magicpram fella that talked about £20 billion deals in Liverpool is utterly clueless.

The grand old lady is falling down around our ears but finding a property deal to underpin anything is a very very difficult task.

I really liked the idea and the look of the kings docks... also im still in shock about the tesco extra stadium .. they were pretty much going to pay for it .. build the roads around it and then create loads of new jobs ....

But council says nooo ...
