I've had enough of this dithering Dave now. We would have had him had he not wanted him on a stupid trial and just signed him. You've sh*t on us Dave.

So we go for him and then a club like AC come in with more than likley a lot more money and you think this is Moyes fault?

It may well be Moyes fault but I very much doubt it.

He was on trial with us for 2 weeks before AC got involved. It was always obvious he was going to be a star so why the need for a trial? It's typical if Moyes and his negative safety first approach and he's probably done the club out of at least £20m. Nice one Dave.

Not sure if serious...

But regardless, after he joined Milan he was talking about how Milan had been in contact with Caen for a while and he had always wanted to join them - he noted that he had a choice to join Arsenal but turned them down, he didn't mention Everton. So it's not correct to suggest that he was on trial before Milan came in for him.

It was in all of the press at the time. A quick google search shows many items regarding an apparent trial.

Loads of players have trials at clubs all the time, but they rarely mention them when talking about moves etc. cos it doesn't always reflect favourably on them.

He did have a trial, that's a fact, I'm not disputing that.

Still doesn't point to being only Moyes fault, if his fault at all, though does it.

I am sure you could argue that Moyes is at fault for every single thing that goes wrong at the club but just because he was here and we didn't end up getting him does not automatically imply that it is (totally) Moyes fault.

You have to wonder why he is negative on signings sometimes, I think it is pretty obvious.

the season before Ronaldo joined Man utd we had the chance to sign him, we asked to take him on trial and the deal broke down ( fee was around 3mil ) Barry Silkman was talking abount it a while back on tv.

shame we didnt take the chance on him

Too lightweight, can't do it at Stoke on a cold Monday night.

Is this true?!

I believe that story is supposed to be true. I've heard it before.

Supposedly we had wanted to sign Man Utd's Phil Jones before he started making waves at Blackburn, and Edin Dzeko before he became a star at a decent price and we couldn't afford him.

Well this just became the most annoying thread ever.

I guess the only positive is that there is no way Moyes would have played him.
