One player overlooked in 11 years

Everyone carrys on like Moyes has 30 wonder kids at the club that he refuses to play

The truth is we dont have anyone good enough for the first team
That's the point why is the academy failing. FFS

If you plant a seed, feed and water it in good conditions it will blossom into a beautiful flower.

If you plant a seed, feed and water it in good conditions but its diseased it will die.

If you plant a seed, feed and water it for 2 weeks then shut it in a shed with only a little sunlight, watering and feeding it intermittantly chances are its growth will be highly stunted and be half the flower it could have been.

Nope, the truth is the youngsters over the last 11 years haven't been developed well enough to be good enough for the first team.

Who from our youth set up has Moyes over looked in the last 11 years and has gone on to play for another premier league club

There are some - Akpan being the one most immediately springing to mind.

A more relevant point might be why, when Moyes recognizes and points to the slimness of his squad in terms of numbers, he decided to not use so many squad players even though injuries and loss of form have affected the very players that there are potential replacements for. Vellios especially should have been seen a lot more than he has given how Jelavic is, Stones should have as well given the problems at RB, the number of times he has made appearances in the championship before we signed him, and the Barkley thing is just baffling.

when we have no money to buy £30 million players we need to make them. We have cracking facilities so why is it only Liverpool who bring through the top Premiership players in our City?

You agree that we are not developing good enough players yet come out with

How can he play youth if there not good enough?

He has one youth player who IS good enough. Barkley.

However our academy hasn't brought through enough Barkleys

Jesus lad

Your first post has a pop at Moyes for not playing youth players

This season Moyes has made a mockery of it. Look at the first team appearances of players under the age of 21? I think there's less than 10 between them.

Most of all Moyes has failed the youth this season and he's proved he was wrong again.

Yet you go on to say that the acadamy is failing because we are not producing good enough players

How can Moyes introduce youth if there not good enough

With regards to Moyes THIS SEASON. Other seasons he's had to use youth because his squad was that thin. Read mate. I said Moyes has made a mockery of it THIS SEASON. And the sole mockery is Barkley

What youth players has Moyes played in the last 10 years on a regular basis

Not Rodwell or Rooney because they had enough talent to force there way through

I don't really understand Moyes' policy on youth. He says that the Premier League is tough and that he can't risk young players costing us points but plays McAleney away at Arsenal, Baxter away at Bolton, Barkley away at Stoke and Forshaw away at Wolves. They all did fine in their short cameos and were then banished away from the first team squad. Fair enough if he wants to give them a taste of first team action but he picks difficult games and then doesn't give them another opportunity. The lads must feel that they blew their chance. Maybe in Moyes' warped logic he's trying to make them work harder to regain his trust or he's trying to break them into being humble and obedient. I imagine that our best Academy prospects will follow Baxter, Wallace, Forshaw, Ruddy and Forrester out the door rather than wait eons like Anichebe and Barkley for their chance. If I was Bidwell, Garbutt, Duffy or Vellios and I saw former teammates playing week in week out somewhere else I would want to do the same.

None. Exactly either that's the acadamey failing or Moyes being a cart. Anichebes probably the only one who he's kept the faith in

FFS you have just said to me
