Leroy Fer

Always like a signing but if marrow stays does it not worry you we have 3 players in the same mould in marrow,Gibson and fer fighting for one place when really we are shouting out for a forward...
We'll probably never be able to rely on Gibson because of his constant injuries. Same with Miralles. It's a costly liability having them in the squad imo.

Something must be wrong we have bought a player for 8m and not had to sell one before hand. Oh dear who is on their way out the door. Lets just hope there is more to come, perhaps the recent performances of Neville and Osman have showed that we are really lacking in midfield without Gibson.

So happy about this signing. Really excited to see what he can do now in an Everton shirt if the deal goes through. Watched him a few times and has bags of potential. Looks like the player who might have what we need to get the right type of ball to Jelavic.

i'm having a blast translating posts off the Twente forum on Google Translate.
Here's my favourite so far:
"Scandalous village policy. Ten million for a potential European topper is a travesty. And so poop all the junk further. Replacement seems to be Donald of Roda. Park and a half million, change in the bank dropping it."

Dutch star in a trot of bother after splashing out £22k on pet horse to impress girlfriend (who lives in a flat)

A player at Steve McClaren's FC Twente was left red-faced after buying his girlfriend a pet horse – only to find out she can't keep it as she lives in a block of flats.

Holland midfielder Leroy Fer, who has caught the eye of Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton, made the extravagant purchase at an auction of former race horses.

The 22-year-old visited the auction with his girlfriend and and splashed out £22,000 on a stallion called Django.

But his noble gesture fell flat when his other half pointed out that she lives in a block of flats and has no way of accommodating or looking after poor Django, reports Metro.

With no suitable stable space available in the area, Fer has been forced to quickly offload the horse, and become a laughing stock among his team-mates.

Maybe next time, Fer should consider a cat or dog instead.

Quality. Will probably move in with Babel and Drenthe.

Some other posts from Twente fans on their forum:

"Are they totally ripped of the pot.
Fer is our jewel, our best midfielder and then for 10 million sales in the winter. Crazy.
And not to forget he is a international."

"Fer, the engine of the midfield, sales in the winter!"

"Unbelievable .. This is really the saddest news that I've heard time on the FC. Ten million for the absolute strongest country. The man who has the qualities to the top and then for such amount, and that at this moment, let it go."

"We as supporters are all by Twente management laughed. If we want to be champion or just money."

So err, I guess he's good then right?

The Twente forum seems pretty complimentary about us, "a team that can beat anyone at home, even Man Utd and Chelsea" was a personal highlight!

Seems like they're saying that it's the next logical step for him, but they're not happy about letting him go

Gibbo is never fit though so you needn't worry. We need a squad, not just 11 players
