And yes, they did overreact, massively. Read the FA rules. There has to be clear reasons for retrospective punishment to occur.

The power of the media really is crazy. Lawrenson and Shearer spout a pile of sh*te, everyone assumes it's true, and when it turns out, inevitably, that what they said WAS a pile of sh*te, then we've "got away with it" for some reason.

It was only ever going to be a three game ban, there was literally no other avenue the FA or Halsey could have taken. This isn't favouritism, or luck or anything else - it was quite literally the only outcome!

Mark Halsey is a very decent bloke, and I know for a fact that he respects Everton and particularly David Moyes. he and Phil Dowd are the only two decent refs around at the minute and they understand that in the heat of a game these things go on. I think in this instance that Mark Halsey overlooked the second and third misdemeanours on the basis that Stokes approach was, as usual, bordering on being beyond the rules. The fact that during the run up to the game Tony Pulis was meeting the head of referees to detail his side getting nothing compared to everyone else has clearly done us a massive favour - anyone questioning their integrity as a group generally gets the rub off.
I think the fact that Moyes hasn't done a Dalglish/Rodgers/Pulis and been knocking at their door with a DVD full of debateable decisions that have gone against us this term has helped tremendously - and to be fair we've had more genuine reason to complain than anyone else this season.
Well done Mr Halsey, wel done David Moyes, and for once well done the FA,.

Basically that mate. Certain media outlets looked for further evidence to support the case against Fellaini, but Neville rubbished it and said that 3 matches was the correct punishment.

I'd like to see the other two incidents again. For the elbow the referee is likely to be watching the corner coming into the box. Fellaini is facing away from goal and must have a clear view of Halsey's position. And the palm to the face was on the near post. The linesman would have been facing it but Halsey would be stood at the far side of the box and can't possibly have seen it.

We've seen sendings off for going head to head, having hands on an opponents throat, pushes to the upper body and slaps to the face. If you raise your arms to another player the chances are that you're going to get sent off. I would be incensed if a Stoke player did that to Jagielka and wasn't punished for it.

Just been on rawk to gauge their reaction.....funny as fook...they are fuming....the best bit is the fact they are saying how awful and disgusting felli is and how much of a thug he is and in the next breath they are asking for gif's as they haven't seen the incidents......they truly are a bunch of wet pissflaps.
