Player Valuation: £60m
Our big players didn't give big performances and the best games were had by those from whom less was expected.
I thought that Jelavic had the worst game since he joined Everton, that Fellaini struggled to dominate the game and Jagielka was struggling against the pace of Sterling in the second half.
Whereas Osman,Coleman and Naismith all had very good games.

I know that Oviedo wasn't on the pitch long, but he still did more than Gueye did in the entire second half.Gueye is just not a premiership footballer.I think Oviedo will prove to be a very good signing and of course it looks as if Mirallas was stolen at a fee of only 5m.
I think the manager could have brought on Oviedo before Gueye or bring Hibbert in at full back and move Coleman forward.

Very harsh on Gueye in my opinion. We had just lost Mirallas and people are just seeing "well why isnt he running and beating his man eveyrtime" like Mirallas can do.

Gueye a striker being played wide. He's always looked decent in teh spells when he's moved behind the striker. Certainly dont feel we have seen enough for him to be judged that hes not good enough. He was fantastic against Sunderland last season too, so whether its consistancy or not the quality is there, just needs belief, time and played correctly.

Gueye wasn't that bad, few good touches but wasn't able to find any one running off him. Baines refused to pass to him a couple of times too.

People are annoyingly overlooking Neville in the catagory for 'players who are expected to be play crap but actually did well in the derby'.

Thought he was great yesterday especially first half. Good ball retention and distribution aswell as breaking up their play. Still never gonna spray a 50 yarder like Gerrard was doing for them on occasion but he did his job well and I actually thought he was one of our best players yesterday.

I expect Osman to be fired up for the derby as a born and bred Blue, but credit to him for putting in a top display. Cracking goal, and he scored it at a vital moment too.

I was pleased with Naismith and Coleman too. Coleman's shot from the edge of the box was tantalisingly close and whilst he is still raw defensively, his pace will get him out of most of the holes his inexperience gets him into. He also has the slight glimmer of that cold, mad-eyed ferocity about him that Roy Keane used to show. I think he is slowly turning into a top-quality RB. Naismith rose to the occasion, I remember thinking he was popping up all over the place prior to his goal and generally being useful and committed. LOVED his goal, and the genuine emotion he showed in his celebration.

Oviedo also looked like he's got bags of potential. Hopefully he will get more time in the near future.

Ah, the Bilyaletdinov defence.

naismith's movement for the goal was good, i would prefer to see him given a go behind jelavic as opposed to right mid because it just doesn't seem his position whatsoever. Would be harsh to drop neville or osman after the derby, so there's no chance it will happen, then again they have had plenty of opportunities. I hope he has that knack of scoring big goals in big games, will be a very useful squad filler on a free if that's the case

Naismith reminds me of Osman in how he plays and we all know that Osman is ineffective at best out wide, but when he's played in the middle he's almost like a brand new player and the same goes for Naismith from what I've seen. It's just a shame that the place off Jelavic is possibly the most contested position in our entire team.

Yep.

He's got an eye for goal, always looking to make a run into the box or do a little one two and get round his marker. Hasn't got the pace for the wing imo. His finish against AEK Athens when he chipped it over the keeper after running full pelt from the half way line was class.

You can see as soon as Fellaini gets the ball in midfield that he's thinking 'i can get in behind here'.

I hate to keep banging on the same old drum but it's another good reason for moving Fellaini back, think Naismith and Jelly good work wonders.

Not my intention, Gueye was playing off the striker for Strasbourg.

Who got relegated with him playing that position mate.

I'm judging him off what I've seen so far and apart from a decent cross and sometime shot on him he's very much lacking elsewhere. He runs like gravity is raping him and can't beat a man at all.

Hope he comes good but it doesn't look promising so far.

That's completely spot on.
