There's no reason why barkley can't be put into the side

Fellaini is the answer guys, drop him back into midfield and everything will be sound.

Play Barkley alongside him, everything will be fine!

None for me, use it as an opportunity to either put Fellaini in DM and play Barkley, or even put Pienaar in the centre and play Oviedo or Mirallas on the left.

Heitinga has had some great performances in the DM role, and he is a tough tackler and also good going forward, for me, i'd just replace Gibson with Heitinga when Gibson is injured. Keeps Heitinga happy too

Seriously, i watched Cleverley tonight for england. Is there any reason why barkley can't be trusted in the same way 'Taggert in a state' has put his trust in Cleverley. BTW Cleverley was nowhere near Barkley's ability at the same age. Show a set of B******S Moyes!

*****logs off cos Elisha Cuthbert has just made an appearance on my telly****

Cleverley didn't makes his Man U debut until he was 22. Ross is 18.

am i the only one who doesn't think cleverley is all that? he's a neat passer yes but he doesn't really do a lot. if he made a perm move to wigan there is no way he would be in that england team. personally felli being pushed back in gibson's absence is an obvious solution. have junior on the bench if he get's injured, these players have to learn sometime. it's not as if we have games against top clubs coming up. felli is a top class DM, we have plenty of options for his ACM position whilst gibbo is out

felli is a top class DM

The crux of the matter is I'm not convinced by this. He's a top class destructive midfielder but I think positionally Fellaini needs a midfielder to sit deeper than him. He's excellent at destroying moves and winning balls so people think he's defensive but he doesn't have the discipline needed to sit deep because he likes to get around and break up moves higher up the pitch (which is great because it means we break quickly when he wins it but it also means he gets beaten by runners so we need a player behind him to mop up). I wouldn't be comfortable playing him behind two more attacking players.

You'd either get us being exposed like we were for the last half an hour of the Villa game or Osman will be forced too deep like Mikel was and he'll be neutered.

Seems a bit harsh. Is that what the 'Busting our balls' was all about?

That'll be because United had Scholes, Carrick, Keane, Giggs etc etc. We haven't, and if that's Moyes' mentality, why did he start with Rooney at 16?

Rooney is one of the best players this country has ever had and playing as a striker is a less responsible role than in midfield. Playing in midfield requires a lot more responsibility and to play an attack minded 18 year old in central midfield for a big premier league club is a huge risk. Does anyone remember the penalty he gave away against Blackburn last season, it was very clumsy.

Jagielka gave away a more clumsy penalty in the same game.
