Does anyone have contacts at the club?

looking at it from their side, how do they recognise a website/fansite? they wouldnt want to be accused of favouritism, an element of impartiality is required, also, what funds are available to the IT department for such ventures? the way i hear it, a great deal of the everton business structure has been downsized or outsourced.

Simple Suits, they could just do an affiliate system (y)

You act like you are surprised. I've been banging this drum at Everton for years.

btw I'm a Management Accountant (zzzzzz!)

The lack of interaction between Everton and unofficial sites is definitely disappointing - the only interaction being Everton providing match day images to unofficial websites to use - two small images often weeks late which have evertonfc.com watermarked in.

they send more than that to the nip Danny, although they claim they don't and that they use them "illegally"

you not had any signed shirts through yet? Steve gets loads through the course of a year you know.

not had Moyes turn up an event you've been invovled in yet? how about Mikel Arteta?

of course, we know they don't have favourites.....

To dig this back up, it appears that our head of commercial activities used to be the head of sports at MBNA, the company that supplies the credit cards mentioned in the OP. He's been at the club since June so obviously post-dated my original post but he will no doubt prove useful for hopefully expanding this sort of thing.

Several years on, sadly - no progress.

The club need to forge partnerships with unofficial sites as its these sites that provide discussions for the fanbase worldwide, talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face!

Shame really. The whole sphere of social business has come on along way in the past few years, whereby companies are getting not just money from customers but knowledge and insight. Sure does seem a wasted opportunity.

More chance of pigs flying. The paranoia present after the whole KEIOC fiasco at Everton is astonishing.

You would THINK they'd try and cooperate with determinedly neutral sites like GOT but... well, we'll see.

Have you tried phoning marketing and getting a straight answer down the phone?

One of my friends used to run a Cardiff City fanzine much like this and he just kept phoning over a week or so and they offered him an affilation.

Sadly personal circumstances stopped him from running the site any further.
