Bang on mate, no place like it and economically it's the most sensible thing to do - the older it gets the more valued what it stands for becomes.

More and more people in football are seeing the baby's been thrown out with the bathwater at these new stadiums - no history, no atmosphere, no point.

Although I cant see it, it would be quite something if she was the first purpose built footy stadium that was also the last standing when everyone else had 'moved on' so to speak.

Mr the esk being the romantic soul he is took me on our second date to Goodison, it was the first football match I had ever been too.

I was shocked by his shouting, but loved the passion and the intensity of the occasion. When I realised that his Great Grandfather had played on that very pitch, and his Grandfather had attended an estimated 900 + games at Goodison I realised that it was much more than a football stadium. It was and is to this day a spiritual home, an integral part of the family heritage. I hope my children feel the same way about it one day too.

Took my youngest lad to his first game last season, vs Fulham. He loved the place, especially the noise when we scored. I will HAVE to take him again ( finances permitting ).
