Nominal to me means less than £1m like most are reporting. Nominal would imply next to nothing, and £1m although not much isn't that.

It's definitely less than 1 million. The club's release basically states they did Tim a favor (though more likely they did themselves a favor by clearing the wage).

Glad for him that he gets a chance to play over here. Kinda baffling that we'd let a good squad player go for nothing. I mean, we have a thin squad to begin with. Guess I'll be waiting until Sept 1.

I can't see him not going, he knows he's not getting first team football next season and the wages at the MLS will be a definite killer for him considering his age.

Well his wage off the books will help but I thought there were offers around £2m from middle east clubs?

Perhaps this really is a sweetener for Donovan.
