I'm sorry yeah but if you went to a training camp for a week or so, and then claimed to be knackered for 3 months after you'd be ridiculed.

been going to austria for years ,think it was alan irvings idea , when was the last time we started a season well, he works them far far to hard ,
heard a few stories about our pre season training, players throwing up and all that, might sound good to a drill sergant, but were trying to get athletes to peak for the start of the season, overtraining them can be as detrimental as under training them.

We don't start seasons badly because our players are knackered.

We start them because our manager sets them out to play cautiously and defensively.

this. if they were knackered at the start of the season, they wouldn't be able to turn it aorund december time when the fixtures all pile up. We play boring negative football at the start of the season because moyes sadly still sees us as relegation candidates. Maybe, this being his last year will make him throw caution to the wind in an effort to try an do something special to be remembered by ... then sign a new contract

"A picture to sum up just how tough pre-season training can be..."

Just noticed that both Big Dunc and Alan Irvine are there, along with David Weir, Stubbs and Sheedy. Good to see.
