Strange Things 5

The only ST series that has kept my interest from start to (almost) finish - just awaiting the final episode. I’ve enjoyed watching it over the last couple of weeks.

The only ST series that has kept my interest from start to (almost) finish - just awaiting the final episode. I’ve enjoyed watching it over the last couple of weeks.

Thought the penultimate episode was the weakest out of all five series tbh.

But, it’s still all set up splendidly for the feature length grand finale.

What didn’t work for me, was them all split up into little groups, with their own things going on - too much going on, made it disjointed and a bit messy.

Just recently re-watched the wire for the first time since it finished. At the time I watched it during its original run, thought it was such an overrated show. Having watched it again recently, and probably 18 years since last watched it. Appreciate the brilliance of it now and understand why people put it up there as one of the best series. Characters like him, you understand how great they were in performances.

Watched A Ghost Story for Christmas, a Mark Gatiss adaptation of a story from E F Benson. I have to say it was excellent, and the ending was very good indeed, which is not often the case with ghost stories. It's only 30 mins long and well worth a watch. It's on the IPlayer.

I'm dog sitting at a house for a couple of weeks from Friday and they have Netflix so will be watching this.

Yeah I think I agree, they’ve had some ropey episodes throughout (particularly season 2), but there were too many narrative loose ends to try and explain in the last episode which meant for me at least it felt a little contrived.

They’ve been in sub groups really from season 3 onwards with the Soviet sub plot so no difference for season five but it just doesn’t help. This will continue into a big chunk of the last episode I suspect.

But do you know what? Despite its imperfections, I still love it!!!

Finished Pluribus season one, don't think there's enough there to keep me interested for season two, character is extremely unlikeable. Might watch the first one or two as I like Gilligan to see where it goes but this was a bit of a let down
