No one said that?

However, if you’re worried about Islamic terrorism and don’t want it to happen, I’d say surely you would be against the US welcoming an ex ISIS commander and supporting their leadership of Syria given that ISIS are probably the worst of the worst for this kind of horrific callous terror attack?

I find it so tiring that every time some deranged psycho commits one of these heinous attacks people point the finger at all Muslims and Islam as a whole. In this case ignoring the fact that one of the gunmen was literally disarmed by a 43 year old fruit shop owner called Ahmed Al Ahmed. That’s literally what people mean when they speak about politics of division.

Imagine if every time some far right Christian white boy shoots up a school, or shopping centre or cinema in the US all white people were blamed

For the last paragraph, like when the Charlie Kirk shooter got 'outed' for having a ... Transsexual friend

The world is full of hate and division, fuelled by sub humans like Farage and Trump.

We need a global reset.
Don't think you can blame them, Britain and America have binary 2 party systems, where everything is reduced to us vs them. Human beings are scum in groups, if you have more independents and smaller parties, you wouldn't have mess. Before Thatcher you had a working class left and socially conservative right. I see elitism as main problem, Labour don't care about winning votes in safe seats and other parties won't bother. So people can only direct anger at people around them, not politicians.

Oh FFS... He we go!

If anything, netanyahu is to blame!
It’s a difficult one because right now we can only surmise what their motive is and/or who their target was.

Yes, it’s easy to infer that it could be a deliberate attack on a Jewish celebration, and the cause of that could be Gaza, but we don’t know.

Also, it really muddies the already questionable stance that the atrocities of the Israeli state and the Jewish religion are one and the same.

They’re not. Criticising the actions of the Israeli state is fair and just; people correlating that with anti-Semitism is not fair and just.

I’m not saying you’re doing any of this by the way, rather that the narrative that comes out often concerns me.

I mean, the rise of fascism and hateful rhetoric that the likes of Trump and Farage have normalised have objectively made the world a more dangerous and violent place. Not sure it’s that controversial a take.
I don't know what your talking about Bush and Blair destabilized middle East with their invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. "Hateful Rhetoric" exists on both sides of political divide, it's just left wingers believe some hateful rhetoric is justified, some isn't. Likewise right are just as hypocritical. Serbs called Croats fascists, Croats called Serbs chetniks. Both Serbs and Croats called Bosnians Islamists. At least in Balkans people are aware of propaganda and it's affects. Humans have always defined their opponents as evil, use of terms like Marxist, Liberal, Tory, Right Wing, Fascist and so on and so forth just make people avoid debates. Problem is that neither Democrats or Republicans, Labour or Tories represent anyone. So people are just left with hate for other side, complex issues are simplified. A lot of political division has little to do with actual politics and is merely people's desire to belong to an in group, because they're lonely and unhappy with their own life and use politics to cover it up. Happy people don't hate, unhappy people do.

I haven’t seen anyone in this thread blame this on Muslims.

Islamists have been implicated, and that’s absolute fair game.

It’s also weird that you’re dragging Trump and Farage in to this, when antisemitism is the stable of Islamists and the far left.

Antisemitism has always mainly been a right, or far right, thing, look at Alex Jones attacking Soros for controlling the banks, and why do you think the evangelical republicans support israel? I reckon neo-nazi's might be right wing too. Musk's 'non salute' salute, Joe rogan talks about New York controlling the media (it's very clear what that means)

I'm of course not saying there isn't any on the left, but it's a very odd narrative that it's a left thing where there are literally organised groups on the right
