He was on loan at Forest last season (where he had a falling out with Nuno) and then was recalled by Potter. For some reason Potter would play him as a defensive midfielder, but that’s not his game.

He could do a good job for us and add a bit of short-term depth. Given we are short of cover and he brings brilliant set piece taking and pressing ability would make him a potential bargain, in my opinion.

So you’re proposing he play in central midfield that requires even more pace and dynamism than a defensive midfielder?

Again, if we want a cheap short term alternative, recall Armstrong, don’t waste a loan spot on a crab.

We need to be injecting more pace into the team, not handing off average players from a few years ago. Not arsed if they’re honest or hard working if they can’t track a runner.

We’ll see how many suitors he has in January and of what level.

You play him a bit more advanced and let him support the front men with his ball playing and pressing.
