2025/26 David Moyes

So nowhere then?

Thanks.
Yes you've won your own straw man argument there David. I was simply saying that you keep repeating this "Top Ten is the minimum expectation after the transfer outlay" line and you've got absolutely nothing backing that up besides the fact you keep repeating it and believe it yourself.

Fact is there's been nothing from the club or the Friedkin's suggesting there is any minimal expectations for Top Ten and you're just creating your own yard stick for Moyes and assigning it to the Friedkin's.

If you have anything to show that anyone at the club shares these targets go ahead and share them but right now it just looks like you're trying to claim Moyes isn't meeting some target that only exists in your head.

I don't think expecting top ten because we spent our first positive transfer spend in half a decade is reasonable tbh.

That quote about us needing to be at our best against Newcastle is an absolute disgrace. I genuinely got dragged into thinking Moyes had adapted and changed a bit after the United game. Thought he’d actually thought we can attack teams and that the “knife” had been replaced by a “gun” for these types of games. The fact is, he can’t maintain any kind of winning mentality or momentum at all. He is what he is and this club will never move forward as long as we have this “Moyes/Kenwright” plucky, underdog, loser attitude. Absolutely sick of it,
Don't most managers say every week you have to be at your best to get a result in the Premier League because every team is so good and every match is so difficult? Of course it was a winnable game and it shouldn't be suggested otherwise, but we're not peak Barca who can just put our slippers on swot very good teams aside. We're an average team and unless we are at our best every week, we're more likely to come unstuck than hoover up wins.

Lucky we've got proper owners now who won't be impressed whilst one of their clubs is top of the league taking the game to everyone they play whilst the other is 14th and has a manager coming out with quotes like that.

Moyes needs to stop thinking he's untouchable and still working under Bill.

People are surprised that Moyes inflated Newcastle way above us?!

...the feller who coined the phrase "taking a knife to gunfight"?!!!!
Nah I’m not surprised mate. It is the sort of thing i expect from him. We were never consistent with him even the first time around. Be surprised if he is still here next season.

It would take a huge reversal of form for that to happen, Leeds have got 4 difficult fixtures before Christmas, Burnley have got Palace and Newcastle up next, West Ham will play the RS back in form then have United, Brighton and Villa. We’ll go into the festive period somewhere between 11th and 14th but with a bit of daylight

We've just spent about 100 mil in the summer, would be surprised if there's a lot of funds for much business to be done. Can see us signing a striker on loan for 6 months, who needs game time ahead of the WC, maybe a right back if there's the right one out there, but not much more than that.
TFG are ambitious, at least I hope so. From the get go they surely knew that this was a huge rebuild because of under investment in the squad for many years. 100 millions nowadays is not going to cut it. You need to spend perhaps 3 or 4 times that before you start become a real challenger in the top half of the table. I know psr is an issue, and I hope they used goodison park alongside the sale of the womens team to give us a bit of breathing room. I would be disappointed if we dont spend at least another 100 millions in January.
