2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Pathetic set up today? He's played the same set up for every game this season.

Well the last 2 games we had 3 in midfield. Today we had 2 in midfield with KDH back as a 10.

When Alcaraz came on he was used as an 8 with KDH still as a 10.

Using Iroegbunam who has only done well in a 3 or alongside Gana when both press was also a massive error.

So yes, misusing players is pathetic.

The last 2 games we won with players in their positions.

I’m sure you want the same as me, Everton to win and be successful, right?

We have Illy and Jack both far superior to him, and likely always will be.

We needed an extra winger as McNeill if we’re honest isn’t good enough for where we want to be.

What does Illy, Jack & Dwight have in common, lack of pace… so why sign another winger who isn’t quick enough to cause defenders an issue.

Tyler wants to stand his man up, that’s the same we have in our other three wingers. It’s a waste of 40m, he hasn’t shown anything to warrant that fee. Argue it all you want but he hasn’t.

We are paying for potential, the club isn’t in a position to do that, equally there is NO guarantee that Tyler ever becomes a 40m player.

For where we are at, we need smart signings like KDH, players of the level we want to move towards.

The 40m should have gone towards full backs, plain and simple.
There is no guarantee on any signing..

I feel sorry for the lad. Moyes has previously refused to use him, and then he is brought on when the team is underperforming.

You may say he had no pressure at that point, however it could quite easily sap any confidence from him playing with that debacle.

….squad players are there to be used when the Manager sees fit, not sure I’d ‘feel sorry’ for any top flight player in this era. Subs like him tend to be used when we’re chasing the game, just like v Palace.

I like Alcaraz but when all are available the midfield virtually picks itself, if Alcaraz plays then it’s in preference to KDH. The other option is to go with Alcaraz instead of Gueye or Garner.

So easy to say ‘use him’ without saying who’d he replace.

I don’t want to sound like I’m totally writing him off yet, but people tend to hand waive away when a young guy struggles at this level in a bad team and sometimes that actually does mean they aren’t up to it.
My concern with Dibling is he’s never seemed like he is itching to get on.

There was a time there where he passed it to back to Tarkowski and quite meekly showed for it back. He should be absolutely demanding it off him, to be fair that’s something you can always trust Alcaraz to do.

There’s been ample games this season he could have came on in the last ten minutes, yet it’s hardly happened at all.

Not feel sorry? A young promising player, in a new city and known to be a home bird, yet he’s struggling for game time. I think sympathy is fair.
