they're quite handy at keeping us outside by letting us through the turnstiles slowly when we play there, so, ha ha, taste some of your own medicine kopitesI see the denizens of Anfield are up in arms at the length of queues they've been having of late under a new stricter search regime they've adopted.
Fans queuing for an hour at a gate and missing the first 10-20 minutes of a game.
They're only trying to do what a lot of clubs (including us) have done..... trying to have a more flexible venue for far greater usage and therefore income. One of the key motives for our move was supposed to be an increased number of events. The difference is that they are actually trying to tick those boxes fully, with a moving pitch and closing roof. However, in football mode, it will be every bit a football stadium.... with what looks like two large single tier end stands, and 3-4 tiered side stands with what appears to be several levels of exclusive corporate/hospitality in their own dedicated tiers. Yes, externally it looks over-the-top pastiche, but IF it is realised (and that might be a big IF), the internal design and flexible functionality are clearly all there.
Come on my son, fairs fair! Stood waiting for an hour after a four hour drive from Cornwall is a bit much.I see the denizens of Anfield are up in arms at the length of queues they've been having of late under a new stricter search regime they've adopted.

I think it is the easiest and potentially most cost-effective expansion in most respects. It has the additional benefit of "finishing" the stadium bowl.... to give two proper home ends (albeit with the corner cut-out of away fans). Which could really add to the atmosphere. It is also the solution that most seamlessly completes the signature Meis barrel roof. If just a straight-backed extension to the same height, I think it would be a 3500-3800 capacity increase. However, if it better filled the window, right up to the roof, that could be a further 2000 or so. Which is getting really close to the 60k benchmark being set by many clubs.
The problem with stadium extensions is that clubs often like to offset some of the costs with a strong hospitality element, ie new lounge space or boxes.... which is usually less lucrative in end stands. I'm not sure how much of a prioirity (if any) it would be to our new owners tbh. If demand goes demonstrably through the roof.... then perhaps!
Man City put hospitality at the very back of the last extension.
I could envisage them replacing the 'window' with a Crystal Palace style wall of exec boxes. The problem with stadium extensions is that clubs often like to offset some of the costs with a strong hospitality element, ie new lounge space or boxes.... which is usually less lucrative in end stands. That's because it connects with the hotel behind it. Sort of seamless transfer from hospitality area to seating.
I meant the previous extension on the south stand. They have boxes and luxury seating at the back. Not the new one that's being built on the north stand.
Legends lounge and managers corner.
Thinking about it, it kind of puts us further behind when they're building hotels attached to the stadium.
Wasn't that between the 2nd and third tiers though? Ours being only a two tier stand that would therefore be where the disabled platform is currently. If we did extend the concourse area out from the back, it's possible this area could become premium boxes/seating. The accessible platform could then take up the first few rows of the upper tier, if the appropriate elevators can be installed for access.
