Ive got to balance it. If we took the chances in those 35 mins then moyes gets the credit. It was our best 30 odd minutes in a while.
Its just very alarming how quickly that deflated
On the players we didn't kill the game in the first 30mins but.....
On the manager we didn't make the right changes (McNeil???) at the right time (Alcaraz/Timmy given only 13mins) in the second half.

It’s an odd choice for any team to stop playing to their strikers’ strengths isn’t it?! Personally I think we were a lot more effective last season. The Newcastle away game at the end showed us exactly how to play this season, then Moyesy got waylaid by the money and power given to him over summer and left us as a less effective team.
💯- which is one reason we shouldn’t have got Grealish. All Moyes has done is confirm what a huge mistake it was to put him in charge of everything.

We demonstrably have become a worse TEAM with KDH & Grealish in the starting 11. Just like we were a worse TEAM with Lineker playing.
I would agree with the first bit, although with Lineker we were pretty great, Inchy was coming back from a bad injury and Andy Gray’s knees didn’t have much left in them, so I’m not as sure about that one. I think our perception as Blues is just so informed by the painfulness of the near miss.

I like Grealish as a player, but I do think we as a team are better when we’re more direct and turn the opposition round much quicker - that doesn’t mean us playing like Dyche, but playing like Moyes last season, not Moyes this season.

What would you have him say? "Aye, it was a very difficult chance to put the ball in the net from 1 yard out, I doubt Ronaldo or Messi could have done it."

Nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade if the manager chooses to do that.
Cba discussing it mate, I think he’s handling these players really badly, sticking what little confidence they do have right out of them.

Like for looks subs, so they never get a chance to make amends.

Dibling or Rohl not getting a kick, Alcaraz getting 10 mins her and there, when the midfield have stunk the gaff out.

Just poor poor management.

I don't think anyone wants Garner at RB but without him there we have to keep playing a defence that has gone from being reliable to being shaky to say the least. We have players that can play in central midfield and do a decent job, drop KDH back, play Rohl, even Iroegbunam, but we have no real options at RB. I'd try Garner there and then hopefully get a RB in on the first of January to end this insanity!

Personally dont think it changes much and the fact more sides are playing direct, long throws, and set pieces, removing more height from the team won't help.

Doesn't solve the final 3rd for me and moves our better player

Are we absolutely sure we won’t get dragged into a relegation battle….

So so many weaknesses in this team. Losing Ndiaye to the AFCON removes a massive portion of our attacking threat.
Take Ndiaye out this team and there is next-to-zero goal threat. Subject to signing a striker in Jan people are delusional if they think this tinpot team are getting anywhere near a top half/European finish.

Other than maybe a loan of a striker who needs game-time / world cup prep coming in in the winter window, we'll accept it right until the end of the season when we finish exactly where we're realistically at: lower middle table ish.

This football club has been as-good-as bottom of the table for goals scored/chances created/attacking metrics for a few years, yet we went into the season with only 2 strikers on the books and everyone at this club seemingly thought that was fine. Disappointing, yes. But no one should be surprised.
Jesus would be a godsend.

I agree with a fair bit of that to a fair degree as there as some valid points, but ultimately, I don't know how Moyes could have had Barry put the ball in the net from 1 yard out. Any sunday league player would have scored that. Players have to take responsibility for their own standards. But agree sometimes Moyes doesn't do himself any favours.
