Match Thread Everton 0-3 Spurs . Sun Oct 26th. 4.30

Ignore what? We were outclassed today. The players tried, so you cannot really complain. Paulinha is better than anyone in our midfield by a large margin.

They defended well whereas Tarkowski was lucky to get away with another shocking mistake due to a great save from Pickford.

They are better in almost every area of the pitch.
Simple for me changes should be made at half time we were 2-0 down by then plus first subs made by spurs... really?? His first change like for like one hopeless striker for another hopeless striker. At least he moved garner out of the midfield that he had been so ineffective in, Alcaraz left until 85th minute i could go on at the dithering and timing of his changes. Why not push ndiaye up front in support of Barry/Beto and bring dibling on ? At least try something if it doesn't work out fine but at least try he doesn't appear to want to try anything. Also saying Paulinha is better than anyone in our midfield is knife to a gunfight kind of talk, we'd be as well not turning up against better teams with that attitude.

We conceded set play goals. The actual open play was quite even and in some ways in our favour.

The same eleven outplayed them by a fair margin in the second half. Gana was much, much better second half, so whatever adjustments and conversations were had did the trick.

We lost that match because we failed to handle them defensively at corner kicks. But you don’t fix that making substitutions.
Yes, but you can try and adjust tactics and players who aren’t just going to play it to the wings and cross it into their towering centre backs every time. We had to change something and Alcaraz down the middle would have done that. We weren’t scoring if the match had have lasted 10 hours with Moyes rinse and repeat tactics.

Aye, he would have turned down the Spurs job to come to Everton!
Going to take some time before we can attract who we want, same for strikers.

Could Moyes have done differently today ? I think we probably had our best team on the pitch. We had the ball wide a lot but nothing much to aim for and Spurs defended well.
