Good stuff that. I put a few drops on a paper tissue and stick it in the pillow during the night

Do the same with the kids when they're full of it.
Few drops on the underside of the pillowcase and they're snoozing all night.

Anybody had it ? Anybody got it ? I've had it for a nearly a week, paying through the nose for cold 'remedies' which, if they've had any effect, is about as noticeable as a Moyes attacking plan against the top teams. I could fill a reservoir with the phlegm I've coughed up.

The doctor's sage advice was to keep warm, drink lots of fluids, and finished with, there's a lot of it around - thanks a bunch. So, alternative remedies would be most appreciated, providing of course they work, and don't involve eating raw eggs and the like.

the remedy sounds worse than the ailment. 3 lots of that a day, how far from the toilet could you reasonably get?

Think people get slightly mixed up between a bad cold and flu, flu absolutely wrecks you, you're not going to be walking round shops and eating meals, I get the flu jab every year, latest one doesn't even give you slight symptoms

I once had gastric flu that lasted one hellish day. Different types have different length of hell.

I've had two bowls of soup in five days, and they were a struggle.

Since you've opened this can of worms. Do you remember when all the world's leaders, friend and foes, colluded to upset the flat-earthers by making up some imaginary disease? Do you remember when the Tories had to pay people not to work because they made up some imaginary disease? If it had only been in the UK I would accept that it was, maybe, just the bumbling idiot making a mess of things.

Doesn’t cure it and you most certainly won’t feel like eating one, but I’ve always found eating the hottest curry you can handle, deffo speeds up recovery.

Other than that, boiled water, squeezed lemon juice, a big spoonful of honey, paracetamol and a really hot bath, helps alleviate the symptoms.

The problem for me would be finding a plumber, at short notice, to install a bath. Just have to hope the flu jab I had last week is effective.

Exactly this, I remember the phone being right next to the bed and I didn't have the energy to answer it, that's Man Flu.

Wait until you get to my age and start going through Manopause, it's similar to the women's menopause.

Got something heavier than a cold but not quite firmly placing me in my bed for a few days.

Started as a tickle in the throat. Then the heavy chest and chills came on. And the sweating

Whole thing lasted 3-4 days then for the next 2 weeks I had a cough that wouldn’t clear. Thankfully all gone now.

Wrecked my running fitness.

For clarity, I don’t believe it was a made up disease
