comms picking up on N'Diaye moving to the left that unlocked our right flank for city. his defensive covering helped O'B immeasurably. Needs to be Kelvin Kiptum (Kenyan marathon world record holder) to be able to run none stop for the 100 minutes of a game pressing the forward wing spot and then working back to defend his defender.

Totally different game if Grealish is playing - I think we may have won it.

Another big miss is branthwaite, we play 5-10 yards higher up with him which makes a huge difference.

A better showing than I was expecting tbh, and with a bit of luck we get a goal there to make it interesting, but there’s still a mentality issue with the squad/club - clearly Grealish doesn’t have a problem with that, but too many of the others do, and it’s also there in the gaffer, sadly.

Frustrating use of the bench again, especially after their second went in, too safe and static.

The young lads can still learn and develop when we’re behind in game as much (perhaps more)as they can when we’re leading, a few mins for Dibling and Barry ain’t enough imo.

Also could have changed shape to try something different but no, like for like dull stuff.

Hopefully Jack and jarred in against the yids and we keep rolling at BMD.

Which should account for most results but not all. Our record at all of these grounds is absolutely abysmal but teams like Brentford Palace Bournemouth can pick up wins no problem.
Yeah, but every result comes with the context of the current situation at the time it happens. Past results are no indication of future performance as the teams and players are always different.

People probably said similar things in the 60s about playing away at Leeds.

In the score line? No.

I’ve seen this game so many times from Everton. Start ok, miss chances, give up a goal from an error, never look like getting back into it.

Since Moyes’s return we’ve had four games away at sky six teams and lost all of them scoring 1 goal.

We can go away to teams who are absolutely flying like Palace, Newcastle, Forest and win but when we turn up at any sky six ground the outcome is exactly the same.

We had loads of chances to score at Anfield last season but didn’t, had chances to score at Anfield this season, but didn’t. Had chances to score today, but didn’t.

When it keeps happening it’s no longer just one of those days. We don’t perform the same way at these grounds as we do every other game but other teams don’t have this issue.
The way Moyes manages his teams is not very adventurous. This means we will not get too much unpredictable results under him. Works both ways though. Was great last season but Im not too sure if thats what we want for the long term.

To summarise that... we need a striker

We say this, or something like this after every single game away at the sky six. At some point we actually have to go and win one. It’s everyone’s easiest 3 points at home most seasons. Loads of teams win at Spurs Chelsea and Old Trafford. We won’t trouble a single one of them one bit.

why won’t we? if beto scored bet you wouldn’t have typed this post

He's a safe pair of hands. You'll get competence but not anything out of the blue where he surprises you with a tactical tweak or an adventurous thought

Sounds to me like Moyes is doing his job. You can’t blame the manager if players miss chances.

Another Moyes masterclass there paying deference to a team who are nowhere near as good as they were but have a great striker upfront. The first goal was terrible marking as they had 2 attackers to our 5 defenders but Haaland is somehow unmarked for a free header and the second was poor goalkeeping but then Pickford kept the score down in the last 10 minutes so it made no real difference. ?

Ndiaye was good and the biggest compliment you can pay him is he wouldn't have looked out of place playing for the opposition. Beto should have buried his chance before half time and we should have had a penalty at 1-0 as they have been given against us often enough but I doubt it would have changed the outcome in the end.
Disagree...
Pickford was not to blame.
Not Moyes's fault that we have no proper striker.

‘If’ being the key word!!

We’d have an absolutely brilliant history if a lot of things had happened instead of the way they actually went but they don’t they always turn out the same way. Away from home at the sky six under Moyes we dont score those chances.

I’d love to be proven wrong and we go and win at Old Trafford or at Spurs. But I’d also wager a large amount of money that we’ll just get rolled over for a very comfortable three points both times.
