What can you say about that? Reasonably comfortable, then decide to leave probably the best striker in the world on current form all the time and space in the world, once we conceded it was defence mode, at places like City, rs, Arsenal you need to take the few chances you create, Beto/Barry don't ever look like doing that, Ndaiye tearing up the wing, getting to the edge of the box and nobody is within 20 yards of him, corners, free kicks gently floated into the arms of the keeper, they are chances to create something, not an awful display but predictable outcome

Story of two strikers to be honest. Theirs is much better.

Really don't get the subs today either. Two midfielders on with better attacking options on the bench. Played well first half but the goals killed us.
And therein lies our problem. Maybe a little more unfair of me to compare any striker to Haaland (no one in would football does) but our forwards offer no goal threat at all. It reminds of watching United last season watching us, they had no goal threat from their strikers but have talented individuals who could win games. The search goes on to find that elusive striker.

We held our own for huge parts, they just happen to have the best striker in the world. What annoys me is, we have just spent 70m on 2 young players that aren’t even close to being good enough yet.

Sounds like we did OK for the most part but against the top, top teams OK just ain’t good enough!

Then again…at least we had a go and didn’t just go and park the bus 🚌 as it were..

However…it’s also pretty clear we are going to need striker reinforcements in January as the two lads up top ain’t cutting the mustard at the moment in this league!

Safe journey home blues!
