Two big misses. Maybe he isn't used to Ndiaye being David Silva but he is. Beto really should have trusted Illy on the first and put the second one away (I think they called offsides out of pity it was so embarrassing). If he goes full throttle on the first chance we are ahead.

Anyway. Point being, you can't create 2 perfect chances for your STRIKER against City level opponents and be missing them.

Your number 1 job especially if lacking hold up play ability, is to put ball in the net.

And if you can't do A or B, then what use are you?

I'm slightly winding you up mate.

He's moved for big money to a woeful attacking team, and still has the same number of league goals as both of our strikers. Who both cost about 20 x what he did.

That's the problem really. We need better, and DCL was never the problem.

Hopefully we can get some better players in.

DCL's making probably triple today what each of our strikers makes. I'd expect three times the goals tbf. Players don't set their fees but they choose what contracts they sign and he better start delivering soon.

I agree we need better than Beto. Nobody can argue otherwise, no need for some of the OTT commentary about him. There's a weird game of one-upmanship going on with people looking to assign him the blame any time he's near a ball and something doesn't go out way.

DCL was definitely part of the problem. Pretending he was going to return to a 15 goal a season striker is why we bought someone like Beto instead of an actual quality starting striker because we didn't want to upset him at the time and challenge his starting spot.

Agree, mate. Higher quality attackers bang those in. But I still think he’s playing better than he has been in recent matches. He’s getting forward and being disruptive.

I don't mind him up front. This will sound odd, and is not a windup but he reminds me a bit of pre injury DCL, in so far as he gets himself lots of chances. He's nowhere near as polished as DCL was, but he is awkward and gets himself on the end of things. He starts ahead of Barry for me* (which has nothing to do with him being in my fantasy football team)
