…whilst I’m critical of the lads ability, I’m not sure if I’d beat him with that stick as I have no idea if players put themselves up for Off-field responsibilities or are asked.

I’d have thought the higher profile players and club captain are often asked but I might have that wrong.

Can’t blame Patterson for being what he is, it looks like he’s just one of those very fortunate young men to get a PL move/contract even though he looks some way off that level. It happens.

If you look at his "not arsededness" and you add it to his covid-era behaviour it underlines a very poor character...and good players need good character. I know many young players can be like that and still be up to playing, but he's not one of them.

Young Jack broke the rules during covid and he has 1 of the best characters in football.

We all know you dislike and the reason you dislike him.

D'you know, if the feller was doing loads of stuff - as a first team squad player - off the field with EitC or something then you'd almost accept his ineptitude for PL football.

If you look at what he's been doing in those terms, though, it's nothing. There's barely two occasions he's listed on the EitC website for events attended since arriving here, whereas Coleman - similarly with lack of game time - has about 46 events and DCL - blighted with injury issues in his last 3 seasons here 26 turned up for 26 events in that same time.

He's just not interested in being here. It's disgraceful.

An utter waste of time and money he's been.

The general point was that if he's utterly 'kin useless on the pitch and he's still getting his massive wages then he should be at least doing stuff that shows he feels he has a responsibility to earn it some how.
