I don't see why they can't just have it so all the entrances for the lower work for anyone with a lower ticket, all the ones for the upper work for anyone with an upper ticket etc. That would also allow people who find the stairs difficult the option to use the escalator as well. I know there will be some health and safety/crowd management issue they'll point to but I think it would self regulate, people wouldn't stand in a massive queue if the next gates empty.

Crowd control I'd imagine - lots would be heading for Easternmost entrances unless queues were crazy.

Going slightly off topic but while I agree with you to a point, too many people are just obsessed with cars even when public transport options would be fine. People often act like i'm mad for getting the train to and from work but it's genuinely easier than driving, it just blows people's minds that I will plan a journey in advance rather leaving home or the office the very second I want to. The same applies going to the game, a mate of mine parked about a 35 minute walk from the ground at the Palace game, if he'd got the train he could almost have gone door to door in that time.

The public transport for BMD isn't perfect (yet).... but everyone in the city region can get public transport to the city centre and a good proportion can get to Sandhills using Merseyrail. So, if you're a local, unless you have mobility issues there is no reason to use a car for the new stadium. This was obvious and made clear from the start. Unfortunately some people think it doesn't apply to them.

Last game I saw taxis and cars dropping people off by the Coast bar at bottom of Boundary St. That's as near as you can get , no more than 5/10 mins to the gates. But then your mate would have to go and park up. It's difficult.

Which is fine if the service is reliable and affordable. A group of 4 in a car is cheaper than 4 rail fares.
