While Pickford is obviously better that Bobby safe hands MimmsIMO Nev was a better goalkeeper than Jordan.
As others have said, he was the best in the world at his peak.
What I will say is that our 80s team would have been every bit as successful with Pickford between the sticks.
And the team we have had since 2017 would still have won nowt even with Nev in goal.
So I think comparing their medal haul is a bit moot
Southahall’s injury in 86 cost us the title. Maybe we still win in 85 and 87 with Pickford, but a world class keeper, effects the whole team and their mindset

I dont like comparing keepers that are decades apart, personally. I'm proud we've had two of the greatest goalies in the world play for us, especially in a world where JP could have gone on to be a more financially well off feller, he had a few wobbles but found his home here,

I love Pickford I think he’s been incredible and I think his character is great for the club and fans .
Nev was probably the best keeper in the football world at the time , personally I don’t think Pickford is at the level but that doesn’t mean I don’t think he’s fantastic and has almost certainly saved us from relegation more than once .

And I think if Pickford had been in goal after Nev got injured in 1986 we deffo win the Title and possibly the Cup as well.

Most keepers end up scything down the attacker, or get stuck in no man’s land (see Travers v Wolves) but Pickford just about did enough to stop the original chance. Kept us in the game.

Would appreciate if the accurate kicking showed up more. He hit a free kick so far out of play last week that the ball wasn’t even on the TV screen. Pickford is and deserves to be England’s number one.
However, your critique of Henderson is woeful. Are you suggesting that all three Senegal goals were his fault? His performances for Palace have been excellent for a couple of seasons. He deserves to be number two.
To be fair that tweet doesn't really reflect what he goes on to say in the article. He's not saying they should drop Pickford at all, he's saying they should give more exposure to someone else in case they end up having to play when it matters. I agree with the basic principle of what he's saying and have said the same myself many times over the years.
