Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Your obsession with numbers never fails to amaze me.

You more than anyone need this video:

My takeaways are they’re doing the hard part well (opening teams up and getting advantageous attacking numbers and positions) and that eventually even the low quality shots will probably go in more (don’t agree with this part of the strategy but we’ve seen Mount, Fernandes, Mbuemo, Cunha and Sesko all score those types of goals so we should probably wait more than two months for it to go right).

And again a lot of their conversion problem is they keep missing penalties. Fixable!

No it isn’t perfect but it’s more good than bad. I mean he compares it to Palace and the Palace thing took time too. There’s work to do but good work is being done. This team cannot do a one year turnaround. Letting this run is the right thing to do.

We’d be higher up if we played for 4:3 every week. Especially currently with a set of quality attackers.

The balance is easier to achieve if you’re constantly a threat to score
There are games like vs West Ham that we should have done that more to have decided the game in the first half. Generally I wouldn‘t want a Russell Martin or Ange type of manager, nor a Dyche or Big Sam.

Defense kept us up in the last few years, it‘s the the team/coach staff task to find that balance to keep the stability while adding goals.
