Holidays 2025

Off to Ibiza next week.

I usually like to unwind and decompress in Menorca for a couple weeks but the wife wanted something different so I hopped us an island over as she wanted to see it.

Never been, going with wife and baby so tried to find a family friendly place. Booked playa es cana. Fingers crossed I suppose, not looking forward to the mayhem on plane but hopefully will be nice and chilled where we are.

…..think there’s been a bit of rain there this last week or so.

In the Canaries and its been overcast and raining today.

The all inclusive ale is garbage too.

Not great
Last time I was in Thailand last year, rained everyday, but cleared up and started again with thunderstorms. Still hot though, and we went to the local shop and got ake from there.

I know it's not ideal when you have all inclusive, but don't let it get you down. Go to the shop and get better stuff 😎👍

In turkey at the moment, day before we arrived there was torrential rain, rivers running down through the streets, was all ok when we arrived on Tuesday and it’s been lovely since, but it’s forecast rain again tomorrow. Hopefully none of the local businesses get affected.

Literally did the same today, went for a walk into the town and grabbed a few decent drinks on the way home. I can’t describe how bad the all inc ale is (the food is sound though).

Wine and cocktails on tap and the spirits are gruesome.

I've only ever once been on an all inclusive holiday, that was in Egypt, around 15 years ago. From what I can remember, it was sound. But again, a long time ago.

I've just paid for my mum n dad to go to Greece on an all inclusive for their 50th. I just hope it's sound.

Where abouts are you, what resort?

One month until I fly out to Dublin with the bird, extremely excited to finally visit the Republic for the first time. Also taking a flight to Edinburgh for a few days while we're there. Two week trip in total, should be a great time. Plus I'll get to catch the Everton game against Sunderland at Slatterys pub!
Enjoy
If you need any tips for Dublin there are plenty of Irish blues on here!

A Riu in Lanzarote - I must admit though, my previous all inclusive have been Maldives and Mexico, so this is a shock to the system.

They have “Amstel” on tap and I’m 99% sure it’s not Amstel. No bottles, no cider.

The sangria is coming from a tap, as are the mojitos and other “cocktails”. The drinks are horrendously bad - and the worst thing is the glasses they provide hold about 150ml so it takes about 5 glasses to have a pint!

Similar where I am in Ibiza.

Avoid budget cocktails, they're just sugar from a bottle, it's worth it to pay extra for handmade.

Got to say it's all san Miguel draft where I am and it's better quality than home, holds its foam, tastes decent.

I mean it still tastes like lager, I'm not a beer guru but for lager it's more about recognising a bad pint than a good one.

Hi everyone / anyone

I'm looking at going back to Thailand in January. I am thinking of going for around 21 days.

I booked last time through Polka Dot travel, they were great. I didnt have to worry about anything as it was all taken care of.

Now, I am thinking of booking flights and hotels separately as I want to visit a couple of different places.

I want to go to Bangkok and Pattaya. I've been told that Bangkok is decent but only for 5 days or so, as it's a city and mostly concrete etc etc, so hence the reason why I would like to break it up a bit and go elsewhere.

I went last year to Phuket, and loved it, but wanna try somewhere different.

So, I am looking for some advice and help. That would be very much appreciated, blues

Cheers 😎👍💙
Chiang Mai is good. More laid back and less commercialised than many of the typical Thai destinations. A bit cooler as well being in the north

Pattaya is sleazy AF, full of sex tourists.

Krabi and the islands nearby to it are nice.

Ko Chang is nice as well.

Someone else said Chiang Mai, would second this.
