My gut reaction is, he's not good enough, but my head says he must be given a chance for his formation, and new signings in particular, to work out.

When Gordon Strachan was appointed as Celtic manager, I was less than pleased. I couldn't see what he had done to earn the job.

He lost his first competitive game 5 - 0 in Bratislava, then followed it up by drawing at Fir Park. When Celtic lost to Rangers at the Crestfallen Stadion my gut told me he wasn't good enough, but I did say he deserved a chance, and you can't sack a manager after a couple of months.

WGS proved me completely wrong. I may be right about Martin, and I may be wrong, but I feel he deserves, at the very least, six months before the sack is seriously discussed by the Rangers top brass.

As I said, I don't think he's good enough, but that's not the reason I think he deserves more of a chance than the Rangers Loyal are prepared to give him.

It's funny that they handed Wharburton a couple of seasons who had a similar type of project on the go.

I suspect it's not about the manager really. I suspect it's the people at the top. 🤔

That was a cup game dave.
It was the most enjoyable game I've been to all season tbh, probably something to do with being at the hospitality all day mind you!! 😀
Well it doesn't look like your Mr Cavenaugh is going to budge on Russell Martin yet and will probably not do so if Livingston are overcome.

You'll be all upset, when you hear the abuse he gets tomorrow.

I dont care about him that much.

But to me his treatment speaks volumes about a fanbase using him as a way of getting at the ownership of the club.

It'll be Cavenaugh next. I suspect you know it too.

Don't know where you get the 'Cavenagh/owners is the real target' thing dave?
If he continues to ignore the 'bleeding obvious' then, yes, he'll get some flack, but it's the 'Three stooges' of Stewart, Thelwell and the fraud that are the problem and the supports frustration/ire is wholly on them.
He/they need to admit their mistake in appointing them and act soon.

It'll be like Watergate: they start off with a load of Cuban petty burglars and then end up bringing the president down.
