That is extremely disappointing, I honestly thought that we would make an attempt at a cup run here. I don’t believe we have any worries about relegation this year so I don’t see the point in resting players this early in the season, particularly given the international breaks. However David Moyes makes the decisions, and let’s be honest he has been more right than wrong since his return. So tonight is a disappointment, no more no less. Let’s hope we can step it up come the weekend and get back to winning.

Every team that finished ahead of us had an enormous advantage in terms of budget. It’s ridiculous to blame Moyes for not cracking that ceiling. We could have won a cup but there is ultimately a lot of luck involved in doing so.

It boggles my mind how many people would gladly get turfed out of the cups early doors to try and finish 7th in the league. If we never have even a chance of winning something then there is no point. I'm genuinely livid at that capitulation tonight. It was pathetic. I'm fed up of just making up the numbers but to not even try to win stuff is unforgivable.

Agreed. We're never going to do anything of serious note in the league, so why not try and win one of the cups - especially one that most teams don't care about. I doubt there's too many Palace fans complaining they only finished mid-table when they won a trophy a few months back.

We're 7 points from 5 games and out of 50% of the cups. I think the jury is currently still out on what sort of a season we're going to have.
