For a manager of a team that's struggled against relegation for the last 4 seasons it is a crime.
I'm a Moyes fan but bemused tonight.
Out of the League cup in late summer.
No doubt out of the FA Cup come February and the fans only point of interest then is if we can finish in the top half.
With the prices now being charged at my once beloved club it's a joke.
115 quid for Tim (can't spell his second name) shirt.
Get lost.
Total arrogance tonight naming that starting 11.
Good on Wolves for respecting the trophy and their fans. Gutted.
They made 9 changes from their team at the weekend.

They had 5 changes from when we played them in the league.

it was a pretty poor game of football and neither team really respected it. Unless you are saying that giving squad players a run out is the correct thing to do?

That goalie is sheight too. First one he punched to their player, the second he was all over the shop. Other than that he had nothing to do. Again we are toothless up front. I really hope we can do something in January but it's unlikely.

Oh it absolutely does matter, we should try to win every game and competition we enter.

However, we should equally not swing to 100% negativity after a defeat.

We’re in general a whole lot better than we have been in recent memory. Let’s not overreact etc.
Half agree. It’s not just any defeat though.. it’s a big one. It’s us out of one of the two cup competitions available to win

Agree. We’re not stupid, we know winning a cup is a stretch, but given the last few years the bare minimum is to pick a strong team and the players to be on it. This is important for the fans and tonight shows it is neither important to Moyes or the players.

We normally improve after our yearly Milk Cup capitulation so fingers crossed for that at least.

He's only using the squad in a competition that nobody cares about, like everyone else does. You're suggesting that he'd be lucky to keep his job if we don't beat West Ham.
I'm not suggesting that.

What I am saying though is that he's slowly making a rod for his own back. It's the Moyes way sadly..

Play your best team from the off. Go 2-0 up. Then take players off for a rest .

I’m a big Moyes fan but that’s a black mark for me. The 30 year trophy drought is the biggest monkey on this clubs back and tonight was a huge opportunity to put ourselves in a good position to end it.

Got to win these next two in the league now or suddenly it looks like another poor start.

If you are desperate for his name on the back of your shirt maybe opt for "Tim" then you'll have some money left over for a blue donut

First time in 3 years we've actually won in the league before since said capitulation I think?

Do you have any examples of sacking a manager in September being the catalyst for a team to push on to the next level? Seems like an absolutely insane thing to do to me.
Sacking a manager in September is extremely rash, especially if their team is not rock bottom of the league and winless.

However, at the very least, I’d hope the board will recognise how quickly things can swing in football (for better or worse) and that they should be scoping out who their preferred option for our next, hopefully long-term manager will be. I’d be hoping they’re doing this regardless as a long-term planning thing anyway.

There’s such a huge opportunity to do something this season with the European spots seemingly up for grabs. The board need to be ready for anything, be it changing manager or pulling the trigger on a player in January, or something else (who knows)

Do the ‘major teams’ not also play weakened sides in the early rounds of the FA cup?
They have tonnes of European games . We don't

The idea we should rest players for league games in winnable Cup ties is just nonsense

We all knew that team couldn't win that game. The manager just picked a team that didn't respect the tournament and the opposition. That's just not good enough.
