Nah they were dcl under dyche type punts...give him something to run onto and hes got a chance...

The ball kept skipping off the turf. Van Dijk and Konate only had to drop a few yards and Alisson come up a few. It doesn't work against good teams unless they are behind and pressing.

And again, it bypasses our best three attackers, which is a poor strategy.

think we’ve all seen enough to know that this ‘debate’ has been settled.

Barry needs to be the starter and given a stretch of games to cement it.

I like Beto has a person, top bloke clearly. But would be sounding out the market to see if there’s any interest. Hopefully Leeds still have interest and are desperate in January

Think Barry needs to score a goal before we come to that judgment

He changed the game for the better today though. Hopefully Barry can get a run in the team now and build confidence or I imagine Moyes will be repeatedly rotating them after a poor game.

Beto wasn't up to it today.

Jury still out on Barry for me but he deserves a run of games now.

After Beto’s misses against Villa, as well as this, it’s definitely a judgement I feel comfortable making. Can’t remember a single chance Barry has had the opportunity to put away, but can remember plenty of Beto’s misses.

Barry looks technically much better, which should lead to a more consistent attack overall. Give him the same chances as Beto and it’s hard to imagine he’d miss all of them

This constant thing with Beto of ‘just put him through one on one with great passes all the time and he’ll be fine’ as if that’s anything like how football works is one of the weirdest takes I’ve ever come across.
Yes we just need to turn in to Barcelona under Pep and everything will be fine

Beto comes deep to receive a pass and it bounces off him to the opposition forward; that's not a matter of playstyle it's a basic skill for a pro.

Frustating to see after his improved hold-up play recently. Deserves to be dropped.

From today game

Beto- wasn't in the game, off the ball wasn't making runs, at least 5 yards off the pace. There was a point where kdh had the ball and he ran into the back of him. The couple of times he got the ball he missed his pass, was let down by poor passing, but started his runs too far back telegraphing his movements

Barry- an improvement, linked the play well, played on the shoulder while off the ball occupying the CBs.
Makes runs across the front post in the box, his run created the space fir ganas goal.
At least twice there was a chance to play him in while he was on the shoulder of the last man but the pass didn't come, maybe if slcaraz was on it might have, but gana had the ball. He was anonymous at times and sometimes his positioning isn't great.

Neither had any shots but on what they bring to the team I'd stick Barry in.

yep

Barry occupied 3 Liverpool defenders through his smart movement inside the box for the goal
His movement was also vital in the opening goal vs Brighton.

I am not saying he is level with Kane. But his smart movement really reminds me of a younger Harry Kane. He has plenty of potential. We should build on this. We also pressed much better with him up front.
