Transfer Rumour Ben Doak

Hmm, never seen him live, but his YouTubes reminds me of watching Harrison. They have that same stuttering foot thing when on the ball. Looks indecisive. But hopefully with Doak it results more than just running into the opposition and losing possession.

Are any other clubs interested in him?

Can’t see any club meeting a Ā£30m valuation.

He’s worth Ā£15m maximum.

Two long term muscle injuries at his age? Not convinced he’s worth the risk.

….i’ve posted similar, it’s particularly risky for players reliant on pace.

The lad might turn out to have a robust career, but for big muscle injuries to surface at such a young age is a major concern. Not surprising the RS have given the sale a green light, he’s one I’d definitely avoid.

Think he relies more on acceleration than pace from what I've seen, also his balance and agility

…the same applies, that acceleration on existing scar tissue means they’ll inevitably pop. I know from experience, my quad and hamstring problems started after I signed for RS, teachers took me to Anfield during my lunch break for treatment off Joe Fagan.

They troubled me throughout my playing days forced me to even stop playing 5-a-side as an old bloke. Must be dreadful things for a professional to have to manage.

Looks rapid and can go down the line with decent crossing ability.

Highlights and stats seem excellent for last season. Not 20 until November.

Seems like an ideal profile, if he was at any other club i suspect most would want him.
I've seen him a lot this season (in-laws are season ticket holders and my son is a Boro fan)

He was far and away Boro's best and most effective player until he got injured and often had teams tripling up to mark him out of games. Which was effective as Boro had no threat down the other wing at all. Despite this, he still had 10 goal involvements in 24 games plus many other chances created that were missed or got into good positions and didn't capitalise. This doesn't overly concern me, as Morgan Rogers was extremely inconsistent at Boro then hit the ground running at Villa and looked a completely different player.

Doak is also brilliantly two footed, which is rare these days. He can go either way (to the byline or across the box) when taking his man on and scored a lovely left footed shot from the edge of the box last season.

My concern would be the injury and £30m is Liverpool tax for a wholly untested player in the Premier League, but after I was screaming for us to get Gyokeres from Coventry after watching him destroy teams all season and easily be the best player I'd seen live that season in the Championship, I'd be happy with a deal around £20m + performance based add ons

He's streets ahead of Harrison, don't worry about that. Harrison can't deal with 1 person marking him, Doak often had 3 players closing him down last year. other points above, but there's no comparison (And I saw Jack Harrison live at Boro too back in the day) - Not 1 Boro fan was expecting the impact he made before he arrived.
